What speed control would be adiquate for a 440cfm inline??
any suggestions...

^ yup, I found out the hard way that some of the simple router/rheostat types won't work on every brand or type of fan

Yea i just read all types of reviews on other speed controls and looks like im going with this one

its about 70buks but i dont wanna make a mistake that will endup costing me more in the end

Good choice. The digital speed controls work but they cause motor groan at reduced speeds. The variac won't have this issue as it doesn't wreck waveform.

i didnt want to cause any problems for my inlinr and make it humm as most say on reviews

That's the one to get. No hum and it actually works. I hope you have better luck with that filter than I did.
