Speaker for the Dead

If anyone has heard of the Ender's Game movie, that book was written for kids but the ones that come after it are like WAY crazier and get in to the Philosophy of Lightspeed travel and Artificial Intelligence and Alien Contact and all kinds of crazy stuff. There is one called "Speaker for the Dead" and everyone should read it. I am not going to say everything that happens because I don't want to ruin it for anyone if they read it, I just want to let people know what happens in it. And just btw, they DEFINITELY need to make the movie, they already made Ender's Game, so they probably will do this eventually.

In the Speaker for the Dead the story is based around Ender, but he is older and he already killed that alien race, but he understands how horrible it is. He has skipped time by using light speed, because theoretically if you go light speed you won't age, but the Universe will age around you. So every time Ender goes somewhere, everyone gets old and dies on the Planet he leaves. But if you remember if the movie his computer was learning from him, his computer becomes sentient and lives in like a Blue-tooth ear piece and they are basically like partners or like a married couple or something.

But in the Speaker for the Dead, Ender is pretending to be someone else, and he is teaching a class about himself and what a horrible person he is and how he genocided an entire species. Then he gets a call from someone on a planet where the Catholic church has colonized, and he decides to go help the person in the video. So he goes lightspeed and leaves everyone he knows and heads towards the planet. He has the Queen from the species he killed, and he has a Psychic chat with her and he tells her that he is going to find her a home.

Then when he gets to the place he finds out that there is an Alien race on the planet, and that the people are scared of them because they killed a scientist who was observing them. The aliens are like little wort-hog pigs that climb trees with weird cricket legs, and they worship heroes in their tribes.

Then the AI robot finds out that she can actually use all of the internet in the Universe and somehow tie into a web that is behind the veil of the Universe, and she can pull people there and use that space to move people faster than light speed, and without the consequences of time. But when she pulls people out of Space to put them back in Space, if they have any thought of people they Manifest. So Ender accidentally thinks about his brother and his sister and the place outside Space forms them in to beings, and then they are with them when they come back in to Space.

And that is just the intro to all those concepts, I don't want to ruin the book for anyone, so go read it if you want to know more. But they will probably eventually make a movie also.

I liked the book. I listened to it as an audio book whilst strimming banks on a country estate.

If you like Ender's Game, I really recommend Ender's Shadow, which is Bean's story, and runs parallel to Ender's Game. It allows development of some of the other characters in the original, and explains their place in the big picture.

But yeah, Speaker For The Dead is good.

Oh, definitely read Starship Troopers. Pisses on the movie.

And they probably won't make a movie about this, but there was an AWESOME book called "The Martian Chronicles", it is a way older book, and it has some CRAZY stuff in it. I might tell these out of order.

First there are astronauts who take a trip to Mars, and there is a woman who has a dream about an Astronaut with blue eyes, and when the ship lands her husband is scared that it is going to be that guy, and if I remember correctly he kills them.

Then the next trip to Mars, there is a group of people that go there and they land and it looks like Earth. They get tricked in to thinking that their families are there, and then they get tricked in to going in to their childhood houses and they split up, then they all get killed.

The next trip to Mars one of the Astronauts goes out to Announce that they have landed, and he expects that the people there are going to be all excited about seeing Astronauts, but the first door he knocks on the person is kind of mad to see him and tells him to go to the next house. Then he goes to the next house and that guy is even more mad than the other guy, because he thinks the other guy sent the human there just to make him mad. So the second Martian is mad, but he tells the human where he should go and it's some Doctor. So he gets to the Doctor and he tells the Doctor "I'm an Earthling" and the doctor is like "That's nice" and puts him in a room full of crazy people who all claim to be from different planets. And he tries to prove to the Doctor that he is really an astronaut, so he tells him about his space ship and he tells him he can take him to see it. Then when the Doctor sees it, he thinks that the Astronaut is SO crazy that he is able to imagine things in to existence for other people to see. And I am pretty sure the Doctor kills the crew to see how real they are, then takes the Astronaut back in to the crazy room.

Then humans start to Colonize Mars and there is a story about some guy that works a hot dog stand and some Martians come give him the deed to Mars, and he accidentally killed them because he was scared.

Then all the Martians are dead, and the Humans come and find empty cities, and one of the people becomes attached to the Martian society and starts trying to kill the other astronauts.

I might have forgot some stuff and the stories are way fuller in the book, but it's some crazy stuff.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.... Do you know how to use 'spoiler alert' feature when posting?!?

I know a lot of people know this, so don't get mad if you are hearing it for more than the first time.

E=MC2 proves that "Energy = Matter at the speed of Light", this is how the sun works and Atom bombs. They "Split Atoms" to create energy, and then do it all over again and again and again.

And according to Einstein, if you sit on a train and look at a clock-tower that is behind the train as it moves, you will actually not see the clock tower in your time, you are seeing it slightly in the past as you move away from it in the train. Likewise, the people that are walking around the train are supposedly moving faster than you in time, and you are aging slower than them by the very very slightest because there is a time differential.

Then Steven Hawking has proposed "Imaginary Time". I do not understand the Math behind it, but the idea is that there are multiple time lines, and we just happen to be on a certain time line. Supposedly, there are others, and there is math behind this and without it, Quantum mechanics can not be tied to statistical mechanics.

Ego Loss

A lot of people will not experience this in their lives, but it is a good feeling for most people. It happens to people when they take Mushrooms or Acid and look in a mirror for too long, but it can also happen regularly.

Ego Loss is when you realize that it doesn't matter what your hair looks like, or what clothes you are wearing, or what Sun glasses you have on, or even how old you are. Because there is something constant. Even though your body replaces all of its cells every 7 years, and even though you may start too feel older, there is always a constant.

This is ego loss. And usually it also comes with a feeling that there is something much bigger than yourself.
