Southern Star Seeds VS QUALITYMEDICALBUDS

I put Southern Star's 4 x Iron Duke & Super Deluxe regular up against QUALITYMEDICALBUDS' x 8 Super Lemon Haze x Bubba Kush Fem seeds.

Southern Star Seeds: $80-90 for 11, 4 free seeds given, claim top genetics developed over 30 years, etc, exact reason I purchased from them and didnt mind paying a bit extra.

QUALITYMEDICALBUDS Seeds: $50-70 for 10, 8 free seeds were given after I asked for a custom order. Gave very accurate descriptions of each strain and very detailed parentage and traits.

Keep in mind that I am giving SSS another chance by germinating more of their seeds and this time recording with pictures and journal entries. I am hoping that it was just my rotten luck that the seeds I got first time around werent the best, but they were both purchased at the same time, germinated the same time, cloned veged and flowered at the same time, side by side.

Southern Star Seeds - 2/5: Stealth was awesome, arrived in 2 days
The Iron Dukes stunted straight away, and looked so bad I thought they were diseased and removed them from my veg tent. I put them still inside but in natural light for 2 weeks, did not grown an inch. Put them into flower, all 4 males. But theyre free, what can you expect.
Then the Super Deluxe seeds also stunted straight away. I purchased these seeds. They stunted for 12 days, but I wanted this "energetic high" strain so badly that I nursed them and eventually they pulled through. Using wire I LSTd the tops of them down, then they wilt for a day. After I took clones, 1 off each plant, they looked horrible. After flowering the clones, 3 were males and it was the smallest one that was the female. Bud looked odd. It grew outward in a line instead of tight together in a bud. Wont lie, kind of disappointed. Feel like this plant isnt worth the space.

QUALITYMEDICALBUDS Seeds - 5/5: Stealth was amazing, arrived in 3 days.
The SLH x Bubbas fem seeds from QUALITYMEDICALBUDS (free seeds with order, like the Iron Dukes from SSS) were germinated the same time as SSS's. There was nothing that I did for the SSS seeds that I didnt do for QUALITYMEDICALBUDS's seeds. They didnt stunt. They exploded from day 1 and there were only desirable variation in the phenotypes. The 2 phenotypes I finally decided to keep were a sativa dominant pheno, larger and stronger with skinnier leaves, and an indica dominant pheno which was shorter but bushier. I LST'd with wire, they were unaffected by it. I took 2 clones off each, were unaffected by it. Clones rooted in 7 days, 1 clone had roots in 5. Used string to tie them down, uneffected by it. I never topped or FIM'd. LST was enough so I dont know how they would take to topping but im sure they would be fine. After flowering clones, both were female as advertised and both buds looked PRETTY MUCH the same but a little different in density. Same color and had the same scent, got more than others ive grown by a few ounces easily, will be keeping this strain.

In conclusion, QUALITYMEDICALBUDS prices are the fairest and the best quallity so far. The free seeds from QUALITYMEDICALBUDS out performed SSS's in every way.
I am currently doing another side by side comparison of the same 2 sources, both seeds purchased and not free, and I will post the results when theyre in.

QUALITYMEDICALBUDS Seeds - Super Lemon Haze x Bubba Kush useful infomation for growers. I cloned the 2 plants I mentioned in the previous post.
The smaller bushier pheno clone had less root mass than the taller pheno before I planted. I am only half way through this grow, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have cloned the smaller bushier pheno type twice and not bothered with the stretchy pheno.
The 2 Super Lemon Haze x Bubba Kush clones from the plants mentioned in QUALITYMEDICALBUDS Seeds are half way through flower, 5 weeks. In veg I start feeding them at 200 ppm and end veg at 500 pmm. In flower, I have fed them a PPM of 500-1000, without burning them, and they look hungry for more so I will feed them at 1100-1200 PPM at week 6.
The smaller plant I decided to top and it LOVED it, the other I did nothing to. The topped plant is doing better than the one I didnt top, and I mean in both both size, canopy fill and health, but mostly its how well the canopy has filled, it all looks so level. The untopped plant looks stretchy and the bud sites are at different heights. So when it comes to this strain, TOP THEM. I topped the tip of the plant first, then I topped any branch whenever it reached the height of where I first topped. By doing this, the plant has the LOOK of being under a trellis, pretty cool.
REALLY INTERESTING: This strain behaves in a cool way, it seems to kill fan leaves that are blocking bud sites, even when they are being fed. When I defoliate, I will grab one of the leaves beginning to yellow and it will fall off with almost no resistance, its really interesting and fucking cool considering defoliating usually stresses a plant out a bit.
USEFUL: Even under 2 600w HPS lights, the lower 1/3 of branches that most people cut off are no different with this strain, so people should cut off the lower 1/3 of branches before putting into flower.

Will post pictures here tomorrow when lights come on. Plants are HALF way through flower and have some fat AF buds. You will notice that the plant I did NOT top is closer to the light but still not doing as well as the one I topped.
