Does anyone have any inside info on why Tilray keeps pushing back the release of their new strains? I'm guessing that the batches didnt pass inspection and they either had to destroy it or, they are in the process of zapping it. The whole situation is very reminiscent of my experience with Peace Naturals and Mettrum before everything went to shit.

Can't be any worse than Thunderbird who were approved in February and have pushed their date back 4 times now. Health Canada is making everyone radiate their crops or they are throwing them away. Maybe we should start a weed disposal company.

i really don't think thats the case when it comes to the irradiation. i think some of the lp's don't know how to keep a clean grow room. canna farms has never irradiated anything. why are they the only one? i know that they aren't the best lp, but at least they aren't nuking their shit.

From what I've read and heard tilrays mmar stock pile is almost gone and the stuff they are growing in house isn't anywhere near the same quality.....

When you have ex illegal commercial growers growing for you that is what you'll get. They should have started with a clean slate with proper horticulturists that know plants and how to grow plants. If they have proper access to growing equipment and testing equipment any competent horticulturist would have learnt fast how to grow potent weed.

This. Tilray has yet to ship product produced in house. They managed to "aquire" large quantities of Cannabis grown under the MMAR and squeeze it through the testing process with some fancy footwork.
They have now set the bar very high and are going to have a hard time meeting expectations when their in house product goes to market.
Actually its the opposite of this statement. Tilray and other companies were very limited in who they could bring on board as "master growers" with the security clearance issues and risk involved. If you look at someone like Tweed who wasnt able to funnel large quantities of MMAR Cannabis into their product line they are getting hammerd on the quality front.
I think part of this is using a new space, with new genetics. But in large part its down to the over burdonsome regulations. It looks like many of the LP's are being forced to harvest very early to avoid total bacterial load and CFU counts from getting too high. The LP's lucky enough to import from the MMAR avoided the lions share of the testing burden of producing a plant in house through its entire life cycle without any pesticides. Even the best growers use Endall or Neem at some point.

I should clarify - many of the best "ex illegal" growers couldnt work with LP's because they were "known to police". I was more referring to the quote implying ex illegal growers produce bad pot.
Many have brought on horticulturists as "master growers" who have no idea how to grow a crop like cannabis indoors. No other plant is produced in such a fashion, a degree in horticulture wont transfer very well to Cannabis and certainly wont help much for the first few crops where you have to figure out the specifics of each on of your phenotypes and the quirks of your setup.
Im saying its a nuanced problem that each LP faces, the regulations make it very difficult to prouce product that a patient would be used to under the MMAR or from a dispensary. Growing a plant out to its full 10 weeks leads to serious issues with mold and bacteria. Now to qualify that statement - im not saying it would be harfull - im just saying that the standards that the LP's have to adhere to were designed for herbal products with a moisture content of less than 1% that was never intended to be smoked.

I understand but no one forced them to rush their production and create poo. In reality these guys would have spent at least a year growing/testing before they even considered entering the market. If they hired professionals and gave it time (I wouldn't blame them for not being the first to market) to set up proper manufacturing procedures and come up with a quality product it wouldn't matter if they offered it last, the product would speak for itself and people might have look past the high black market pricing they set.
