Alright so I ordered a laptop that I didnt want. The guy wouldnt let me cancel it and he shipped it today. So Im geussing its mine lol. Can anyone tell me if ill even be able to play some games on it?.. heres the specs. its a hp pavilion dv6-2066dx Im having a feeling it wont be able to do anything lol.

I just looked it up and it seems like its a pretty good laptop. I mean 320gb Harddrive is decent(plus its 7200rpm,which is way better than 5400rpm), Also 6gb ram is actually really good. I'm pretty sure the HD 4200 video card goes in full 1080p so your graphic card shouldnt be a problem for any new games. You've got a dual core processor which is nice, although im not 100% sure how good the turion II series is.

All in all it should be a pretty sturdy laptop for gaming/movies. Definintly better than the laptop i'm on right now haha.

Mind if i ask what you paid for it?
 
I payed $749 US for it.. But after I payed for it Iv been looking around and everyone payed $599 for it at best buy in 2009 :-?.. So either he was advertising the wrong laptop or he put the wrong price up. So I emailed him trying to get my $200 back.
 
your processor is really going to slow you down


laptop video cards are not even close to = with desktop cards

you can play games like wow, but newer games is not going to happen

you would be lucky if you got like battlefield 2142 or something like that going
 
ya thats what I was worried about the processor.. HPs are upgradable right?.. Cause my desktop is a peice'o crap acer and you cant upgrade stuff. its all built in lol.

ah dude, diablo 2 battlenet was the shit. I don't know that Diablo 3 will be as good but damn that was a good game. Still plenty of people play it even though its 10 years old haha

Ya Iv only played it a couple times.. like 4yrs ago lol. I cant remember is it like wow and you have to pay monthly or w.e?

No diablo 2 wasn't so I don't think 3 will be either. It was only 8 players per game, not like WOW where its a world, Diablo 2 wasn't.. But that was the game, as many chars as you could make for free :D

diablo 3 the graphics look alot better lol. I just watched a video of it awhile ago.
 
The downfall of a laptop is it is not upgradeable. The video card is soldered to the motherboard and will be using your ram as shared video memory instead of having it's own. If you want something to play games on next time go the desktop route.

Ya I know lol.. I wanted something portable though. Im not to worried about it not playing games. And there are laptops that can play games not just desktops.
 
idk i'd just take it apart, but i had a job building them.

if you really want to game build your own, and go water cooled.

alright, Ill probly do that n see if it is. Ya next computer I buy will just be a desktop I just wanted to get a laptop for somethn to bring places.
 
I probably wouldn't take advice from stupidclown. You are going to have to go to the HP site and look up your model, see what board it has and look it up as to what chips it can accept. You aren't going to have a lot of wiggle room with a laptop so don't be shocked if you are stuck with what you have. Taking it apart will void your warranty (if you have one). As far as water cooling that is only useful if you are overclocking your system and are bumping the voltage up which creates excess heat and that applies to desktops not laptops.

Yeah but Diablo 2 was so savage because you could play hardcore mode and didn't have to have someones permission to kill them. I'm hoping they try to stick closer to that format and not WOW's.
