Depends on how big you want them to get, and what training techniques you are using if any...expect your plant to at least double if not triple in size after making the switch to 12/12.
yeap...you can do it straight from seed if you want to...just the shorter the veg cycle the lower the yields...12/12 from seed makes some pretty small plants from what i've seen
