Some White unKnown Roots Growing From The Soil (Pics)

Dear All,

I've noticed that there are some white 'root like' furry strands growing up from my soil. I touched one and it just broke, im not sure what it is!! Can anyone tell me what it is? Its freaking me out!!

Is that moss growing on top of your soil?
If so, you are way too wet.
You're right, those do look like roots, but I've never seen anything like that.
 
Roots from your plant maybe? Looks kind of obvious being its th only pant growing right?
 
Yep the roots want to grow down to the water at the bottom of the pot and they will in time start to push up the plant. More soil to cover the roots is needed.

You can also feed from the bottom and let the plants roots search for the water. This may help concentrate the roots on growing down. Roots on top is either to much water or root bound
 
Just put a little dirt on top. The one root probably just broke because it was dried out or something from being in the open air. I wouldn't be worried though.
