Hey there,

bit confused with the whoe scrog method

afew questions ( newbie questions lol )

1) i understand you should fill the screen up to 60-80% before 12/12, but before 12/12 should all tips be above screen (if so how much above?)? or pushed back under?
And then do you keep pushing under for first 2 weeks?

2) what should the distance of the screen be between it and the plant pot? think i read 8" is good?

Thanks for taking time to read this,

thanks for any replys in advance.

1) This is strain dependent. If it's sat/sat dom I would probz fill about 40-50%, indi/indi dom perhaps 60-70%. You could even fill it 100% and do some crazy LSTing for a massive yield. I like to play and train my plants so I like to overfill my screen and have a challenge to control them.

The best way I feel to train the tops are to keep pushing every top as low as possible to induce branching; for me this does not stop even after the major stretch ends. I will train until harvest; but sometimes it is hard as branches snap and stuff. This is the micro scrog method(not sure the name exactly)...perhaps check out the instructions that ready built PC stealth cases come with and check out the screens it comes with it too.

There are many other ways to train the tops as well. I have see some people veg till the plant reaches the screen and then flip to 12/12 using the scrog as branch supports. Some others fill 50% and fill the rest using the plant's stretch; in order to provide maximum light distribution. There are too many ways to do this; it's not at all that hard, give it a go and see what works for you.

2) Depends on your setup, really. Lowest I have ever done is 1" above soil and highest is about 30". This depends on your plants potential to reach that height as well as the pot size it will grow it as this will affect height. 8" seems fine to me, although I would use 10" preferably so that you will have 2" more of space that your hands can fit into whilst working with em.
