Some Help Needed!!

Hey all, any advice greatly appreciated:

• Plants 2.5 months in veg. stage.
• Using MG soil (didn't know of probs with MG when I started)
• No nutes have been fed to plants
• Using 4ea 150w 6500k, 2ea 150w 4100k, 8ea 100w 6500k, all CFL for veg.
• 24 hr light cycle
• Ph is just under 7
• RH 50, Temp 75-79 deg

Fan leaves yellowing, curling up on edges and working way up plant. There is still new growth happening. Flushed plants 2 days ago. Yellowing seems to have stopped. I have been all over this site checking phots, I would just like an EXPERT OPINION from someone who has the experience.

i think its time to start feeding them some nutrients at a low dose like 1/4 dose

What food do you recommend? I'm ready to flower NOW. Plants seem to want water everyday but am not giving it to them until soil is fairly dry. Will be using 600w HPS for flowering. Any advice is appreciated.

im an organic fertilizer type of guy myself, but you could get just about any plant food and it will help. if you have the money, and dont mind ordering shit off the internet, i guess id suggest using one or more of the foxfarm nutes

That looks like a potassium def. I would give them a light dose of veg nutes and wait a week or so before flower. when I used mg soil I staretd nutes at 4 weeks. as for nutes I like the alaska fish fert. it's hard to burn the roots so it's ez to use.

Thanks for the quick reply. One more question: Any idea of how much more growth I will get when I start flowering? Plants are 29" tall now. I am height limited have only about 8 more inches left before they will be too close to my 600w light. Should I feed prior to flowering or wait until they are under the 600w light.

your going to need to upgrade the size of your growspace or start bending branches down(gently and a little more each day) because they usually strech the most in the first days of flowering and get double or tripple in size by the time your ready to harvest

Did he have the symptoms for it to be a potassium deficiency or not?

Affected plants are usually tallest and appear to be most vigorous. Necrotic spots form on lower leaves. Red stems. Leaves appear pale or yellow. Add chemical fertilizer containing K.

N - NITROGEN (N)

Pale plants, red stems, smaller growth. Rapid yellowing of lower leaves progressing up the plant. Add any chemical fertilizer containing N. Treated plants recover in about a week.

One important thing I forgot to tell you guys. I was watering plants with water that that was run through a water softener as I have very hard water. After much research on this fabulous site, I discovered that the high salinity content could block or lockup the potassium. I just didn't know this. I do have a feed off my waterline that is straight from the well (hard water) that I have been watering for the last 3 days. BrickTop, the plants are very dark green, still new growth. I do feel like it is a potassium deff. I just hope that the calcium in my hard water does not lock up anything else. I am ready to give nutes in a very diluted ratio, say 1/4 strength. Nute recommendations very welcome.

Considering what you have said I would think it to be the most probable cause so logically the first one to commence to go a-docterin’ fer.

With the edges getting crisp and not the leaf. I'm thinking potassium. Don't know could be something else If he's watering with water softner water.

Thats the development of K. Also note how the edges of some of your leaves are bent up sharply... all the way down the sides of the fingers. This is the plant telling you that it can't transpire enough water, for whatever reason. K deficiencies effect water uptake & transpiration, along w yellowing the edges. If indeed K, the edges will dry to crisp next. Peace.
