I was just wanting to help out people attempting their first ever grows in their closets either using HPS or LED or LED/CFL combo lighting.
One thing I've learned is this in growing. Depending on where you live in the US.. This time of year is perfect for indoor grows in closets.
My first grow I started in may indoors few years back and man deep in flowering it was hotter than hell in the closet.
I would tell all beginners (if closet growing) to start like 1st of september or a little after.
When the highs during the day are 78 and lows at night are 50-55. Your closet grow room will keep a damn good day/night temp if you do your closet grows in the fall.
Fall is the perfect time for indoors simply because the grow room temps stay damn perfect. If you get too deep into winter your night temps may drop into the 50's.
So..... Beginners ... Start your indoor grow in a closet in the fall... you wont have to battle heat or cold.. a simple oscillating fan will keep everything pretty perfect.
Just wanted to help out some first ever time growers etc.
These are just my opinions and I'm no expert by any means. I have done 4 grows start to finish and I'm just here to share what I have learned growing everywhere indoors from may 1st to november 3rd.
Fall = Damn good room temps.
P.S.- for you smaller wattage LED growers (UFO's) .. If its getting too cold in there.. add some 150 watt (40 true watt) cfl's ... 2 of those in a small closet can bring temps up to a respectable level.
If you wanna grow.. just do it.. dont be afraid.. spend your money on these 3 things and you can get up a running and have success on the cheap.
4 most important things IMO
#1 - genetics (I use the single seed centre and always will)
#2 - Soil -Use one of the top brand soils out there (fox farm , roots organic , bio bizz)
#3 - Nutrients - Easiest nutrient systems I've found that are cheap as well .. I'd either buy the fox farm trio or one 8 oz. bottle of dyna gro foliage pro and one 8 oz. bottle dyna gro bloom.
#4 - Lights - This is all up to you and how much you want to spend and just what you want in general. I personally would pick full spectrum LED over CFLS unless you wanna use T2's/T5's/or T12 tube lights.
I learned alot from these forums so I figured I would try to help out newbies on their first ever grows.
If you have questions then respond and I will try my best to answer.
For 140$ you can be up and running in a closet and that includes seeds, light, soil and nutrients.
