Soil

Will any soil you pick up at a local nursery be good enough to grow after the first month of a plants life? (once it enters veg stage)

Well Vegg is the first stage (after 3ish days of germinating anyway), then flowering (when light cycle is changed to 12/12), then budd. Theres a bunch of threads on soil choices, mixing your own seems to be the most popular, worm castings/top soil/ peat moss/ vermeculite etc.. As far as the soil you get at a nursery? just depends what it is, but you can grow in just about any packaged soil. but once your seed is germinated your going to want to plant it in the same soil for its life cycle, unless you absolutly have to xplant it.

Yeah I know all about veg/flower, etc etc. I just wanted to know if any packaged soil you get will that be okay? And I will be transplanting my plants into the soil (in 2x2x2 holes) from just straight potting soil because the stuff from the nursery as manure and what not. Don't want to burn the seedlings.

A good quality potting soil mixed with some promix .. is what I've used for years(good results).. this summer I'm getting rid of soil and going to promix, perlite and vermiculite...
watch when using soil that you maintain GOOD drainage I did a 50-50% promix & soil.. some soils have sphagnum, vermiculate..etc so read bag. ... luck.

twisty where ya been?! yeah i was gonna add some good organic soil to my promix this year
