Hi everyone.
I'm in need of buying some more soil and would like some advice. A bit of history first. I bought some Shultz Plus Soil and had some Shultz seedling soil as well. There was actual garbage in the soil bag such as rubber bands, paper, plastic and I had other plants growing out of it when it was being used. I never made it through that bag.
The seedling soil I used in one cup to give it a test, noticed that my seedling stopped growing after 2 days, took a look at the roots and found mass amounts of fungus gnats. After I pitched that cup and seedling across the street, the bag has been dumped.
I then went and purchased some Miracle Grow and had no problems with that bag, went through it all and is working great.
The local Lowes also sells Pro-Mix, but it comes with nutes already in it. A lot of people on here rave about the Pro-Mix, but they all seem to get it with no nutes and I can't find any of that around my area. Which would be the lesser of two evils?
One more question. Can you reuse your soil after your finished flowering? If I was to pull out the stock and most of the root ball, then break up the rest of the roots and mix it all up, would that be alright?
Thanks for your info.
