Ok I just now checked my ph due to dying leaves and other problems(should have done it sooner i kno), ph of the tap is 8(shit city water), however the runoff is 6.5 checked with indacator drops(digital meter coming next week) I lowered the ph of the water to 6.5(gh ph down) and the runoff came out 4, this is foxfarm ocean forest, but it was transplanted from a miracle grow mix with a lot of peat moss. Also the ph of the water with nutes is 6(fox farm again) I am in the middle of flowering and need to fix this shit ASAP This is for 1 plant in 5 gallon pot.

When I get my pen what ph should I flush the water with, and how much water? What ph should the runoff read when im done?
And in the future I should ph my water at what 6.5(including nutes)?

well thanks for all the replys, anyway I flushed it with 5gallons of the ph8 tap water(filtered) untill the runoff came out at around ph6, is that still too low? I plan on buying some lime to put on the top of the soil in hopes it will leach down with waterings and ballance the ph.

Any other suggestions or something I forgot?

Go easy on the lime boss, too much will screw you up. If your run-off is between 5.5-7 you'll be fine as long as you water with the proper PH water and do a flush every 30 days.

I made a mistake on the first post, the runoff for the ph8 tap water was 5.5 Now it is ~6.5(tested today)

This is my first, so many fuckup's, lessons learned.

I found my old post I thought was gone

yea leaves are still looking like that, however I am in flower now, they start dying from the tip, slowly turning pure yellow(including veins) than brown, dead tissue. Food is FF tiger bloom (2 tps) and big bloom (1tbs) per gallon every other watering(was not ph balanced so tested 6). I also think I may of had a rootbound problem too, plant was 6ft in a 2gallon pot lol. I transplanted it than flushed(alot of stress I kno)

I recently just got a digital pH meter and I checked the water I have been giving my plants and it was 8. This was way too high but my plants were doing incredible, the dying plants could possibly be due to something else.. A good pH, IMO, is around 6 but 5.5-6.5 is okay. As far as the runoff, it doesn't really matter because if you keep watering with the samp pH water then the soil will eventually retain the same pH. Most growers don't even pay attention to soil and runoff pH.

hey, still having problems with that plant, it looks worse. the leaves are more brown and dry and curling up.... its now into the 4th week of flouring i think. on a 12-12, 1/4 ferts with 3/4 water, and only adding ferts every 4 days... one of my other plants is starting to have dry yellow leaves. it is only in its first week of flowering... i have flushed them both fairly well i think... the first two pictures is the plant that is week 4 and the last picture is of the one in week 1
