soil mix?

im going to be growing outdoors in burlap sacks. what kind of soil should i buy? maybe half top soil, half potting soil? i cant get pro-mix because they dont sell it where i live and i dont want to have it shipped from online, so please dont mention that.

It's a little complicated and requires you to perhaps buy more than you need unless you can find the elements in small quantities. But it sounds good.

Another mix suggested to me is about 65% compost/soil mix(peat moss I think), 10% Perlite, 10% vermiculite, 10% worm castings, 5% sand. I think I might up the worm castings a little though because it is supposed to be good.

i see. but nothing in that link mentons topsoil. does half top soil, half potting soil sound like a plan? potting soil that contains peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, etc that is.

I think most people don't use top soil or real "dirt". Here is another thread talking about ingredients. Click on Mogie's link for a real nice mix.
