soil in a dwc?

anyone ever heard of soil in a dwc bubbler?

Yea i had it once and it ruined my Bp set-up had to scrap it and start over. I cant tell you enough not to have any dirt in you dwc,Bp or erbb & flow. Rinse rinse and rinse agian make sure there is no dirt what so ever. hope this helps you and welcome to RIU

I thought i washed all the dirt out of the roots but there were still small fagments inbetween the roots so when i put them in my ressi the dirt contaminated the water and they caught root rot and algae and messed up ph levels so i retransplanted them in dirt and started with seeds in my rockwool instead of growing an transplanting its just easier that way. trail and error is how you learn. I also learned that dont try to play the ph game your wasting your time just get it as close as [possible and never try to drop or raise it to much you will hurt your plants.
