Soil grow

Am going to be using my own blend of soil for my indoor plants...topsoil, peat moss, little sand, coffee grinds, and some manure...is it really necessary to buy nutrients to use also?

If you have good enough soil you will not need any nutrients. I've used FF Ocean Forest for a lot of my grows and didn't have to add any nutes until flowering time. Making your own soil can be tricky. Do some research and you should find some decent formulas. Subcool's Supersoil works well for the bottom half of your pot, which is when the roots should be in the flowering stage.

Anyways, yes if you have good enough soil you do not need any extra nutrients.

Peace out.
