Soil grow, potting improvising?

I was going around town today looking for a larger pot to transplant my plants that are currently root bound in their small/medium pots and I couldn't really find anything big enough without being to outrageously big or expensive.. This is something that seemed like it would somewhat work? What do you guys think? It seems to be big enough, I like how it's somewhat taller/deeper than it is getting wider (I heard somewhere in the beginning of my research, that cannabis roots tend to grow deeper than they do wider like some other plants? Correct me if in wrong) and it seems to fit the dimensions I have in mind, but I just want to know what y'all think about them first.. Any helpful criticism is welcome! The only thing I can think of is the transparent possibly letting light hit the roots, would that be a problem if it's indoor grow with hid's over top? Or I was thinking about just taping some black trashbag over the outside..

Not sure if they are opaque or have some transparency.Darker would be better. What I did when I first started and didn't have hardly a dime to spend, was go to Wal-mart and bought plastic garbage cans like you would use in the bathroom or bedroom etc. They came in black there are different shapes, but they are cheap. I got a few 3.5 gallon and some 4.5 gallons cans for less than 5 dollars each. 3.5 gall I think were less than 4 dollars. But you would probably want to use a darker color. I went with garbage cans because they were cheaper than similar sized storage containers.

I grow in 3.5 gallon hempys and every bucket I have came from the dollar store, black 3.5 gallon car wash buckets for like $1.25 each, works great

Scrap lumber for a pot Libchick? Outdoor pot I take?

All good suggestions. I just came across some of those tall plastic buckets with a handle [usually white, they can come with lids & used in catering supplies] & quite robust. These were black, 11" x 15" & only $5. A few drill holes & I've a deeper pot, that's stronger & comes with a handle. I had the same idea wpx, about the deep roots. My current pots are 11" wide by 10" tall. I think the extra 5" in height would make a big difference & the girls could go longer between watering, especially in the heat.

The cheapest option of all, are those really thick, strong black plastic bags, that's used as a pot in the nursery industry. Go to a large gardening centre & they'd probably give you half a dozen if you asked.

Thank you all for y'all's input.. Ill keep my eye out for those washing buckets, but I'm kind of interested in trying one of these out just to see how my babies do in something like this.. I'm thinking about taping black trash bag around the edges or just putting straight up duct tape around it lol. Poking some holes in the bottom and throwing some soil in it (: ill let y'all know what I end up doing
