SOIL Flood Table

Sorry I don't have pictures from actually building this. Only thought it might be helpful to others after seeing how it changed my garden. Anyway, cheap flood system. Say goodbye to those trays hehe. This should be easy enough to understand though, without needing to see exactly how it was done.

You can do this many ways, with different material, but I had a few things laying around so I didn't need to spend any cash for it.

I used:

A regular table made of wood roughly 3x4 ft
A 10 mil tarp that I cut to kind of fit lol
Cinder blocks to hold one side of the table up
A plastic crate that I broke to keep pots on the drain side from soaking in water
Something to drain into
Some screws and nails
About 12 ft of 2x2

All I did was cut my 2x2 to fit on the farthest sides of the table and screwed them to the table. You can see in the last pic where I left space open to drain. All the rest of the tables sides are blocked off.

Worked the tarp as flat as I could and nailed it in various places. You should start with where the water will drain. That will make it easier to get the rest of it flat. Mine isn't perfect but it drains well and that's all I really need. The broken up crate is so that some of the pots on the draining side can't ever get caught in stagnant water. They also help to even the pot. Uneven pots are harder to water evenly for some reason lol? Use a level to get your pots sitting right if you need to.

Watch that drain bucket though, it fills up quicker than you think it will. Good luck, hope this helped someone out.
