Hi RIU. I have a problem with my soil as i think its got to much fertiliser. When I mixed the soil I put a lot of slow release Fish Blood and Bone and the medium was my own compost. I think my soil still has a great deal of nitrogen in it and I think the nitrogen is prolonging flowering. My plants are white widow autoflowers from Vision Seeds and have been growing for 13 weeks, the buds look ready but every thing is still very green. I was wondering if a big flush would remove the nutriants from the soil or do you think I should just harvest?

Thanks RIU.

It will remove a lot yes. Look at the trichomes in a microscope and see if they are clear or milky or amber. You want them to be all milky with just a few of them turning amber. Amber means that they are getting too old. Forget the greenness of the buds and leaves. The trichomes are what you use to determine ripeness of the buds. Also just to make sure, trichomes are not the hairs on the bud, they are the crystals that are sticky and look like little sprouts or stalagmites on your bud and leaves. They are very small and you cannot see the milkiness state with the naked eye.

It should be done now, check the trics as stated above. Flushing to speed things up won't do shit. Peace

Lol I bought a 30x scope but could not determin the state of the trichs with it so I intend on buying a 60-100x microscpe when i get paid. thanks for help :)

its not unusal for a super auto strand to need a couple extra weeks longer then breeders advertise to maximise yield and potency. The harvest time they give u is the minimum time before u can harvest worthwhile bud, going a few weeks longer results in a better product most of the time. Going by trichrome color is the best way to determine harvest, if the trichromes are ready the plant is ready regardless of the condition of the leaves.

Flushing is definitely going to help, but I'm not sure it will solve all of your problems. It's worth a shot, though.

Something that I try to do is to use less than what the bottle says because it gives me some wiggle room for adjustments. At the same time, you also have to watch what the plants are doing since that will give you the best direction about what to do next.

(Also, when you use less, you can get more for your money...)
