soil and water ph issues

So i have one of them PH soil test kits in which you add a little bit of soil to the small tic tac like container, you add the powder of one of the capsules they provide, and then you fill the same container with water. To the right of where I add it, the container has a color code that all represent the level of the ph...I did this, and it came up a brownish color (meaning it was 6.5)...and then i shook the container, as I wasnt sure if I was supposed to so did it in case, and when I shook it, it came up dark green, (meaning 7.5) Now I'd say that since it came up with a legit color on the color code before I shook it, it must be 6.5, I just found it weird that it turned dark green afterwards..

Another thing, my water PH is 6.5, and assuming my soil is 6.5, this is right on track right?

here is what I used

and according to the instructions, I have to shake the tube with the dirt and pill/water and let it sit a few minutes before I can read it (soil have to fall to the bottom)

I found out that if I make sure to get a good quality soil with in the right PH (6-7) to start with and maybe even mix some Lime to the soil Mix I wont experience any problems with PH or even water if the soil is a good Organic soil full of micro life, I just use strait Tap water witch is around 7-8 PH in my part of the world

I'd go to the drug store and get some litmus paper. Farmers have been checking soil ph with this stuff for as long as I can remember.
