SOGging

ok so this is my 1st doin a SOG grow. im wondering how i should plant my seeds . the space im plannin on using is 3x3 im using a 600w mh/hps.
should i plant them in their own 1 gal pot or just make a 3x3 grow bed full of soil and just throw the seeds in old school style

also if i do the seeds individually whats the recommended amount for that size

separate containers.


From my experience plants won't grow much wider than their roots. You don't want wide plants for SoG. Fitting the most dominant colas into the smallest area is what Sea of Green is about... therefore the smaller the container the better...

you have to weigh in how much time you have to offer to watering as well as how much you are spending on seeds..

something slightly larger than a party cup if money and time aren't issues. otherwise your 1gallon if you are broke and don't have time to visit the plants more than 1 or 2 times per week.

for most people I think a 5 or 6 inch container would be a good balance of fitting lots of plants into a small area and also not needing to water so frequently.


Indica strains do better for the SoG too because they typically do not stretch as much as Sativa. Northern lights is a great SoG strain if you are looking for yield and potency.


I would veg them for about 2 or 3 weeks maybe longer if it is a slow growing indica.
