Hey guys,

first journal but read many on here and thought i would give it a go....

i have four mothers at the moment; BlueBerries, Cali Orange, BLZ Bud and Ice Kush and i have just taken 28 cuttings off of them for my first stage of Perpetual grow. i am going to let them have 4- 7 days of Veg time and then straight into 12/12

the cuttings are in a small container with about 2 inch of soil. then each cutting is in its own jiffy plug and half burried in the soil. i also used clonex at the time. and way, that was 7 days ago so im hoping to see roots very shortly. and that is when the journal truly begins. i plan tohave several updates with plenty of pictures for two reasons, one to show off my bud ha, and two to get tips along the way from more experianced people.

i also dont really want people dissing my shit or other peoples. im here for guidance not criticism.

enjoy guys. i will post my first pics the next time i go to air out the clone box.

Papa

A few pics to get it started. (i hope i posted them correctly)

1 -4 are the clones in my box. clones are from all four mothers. just a few from each
5 + 6 are a group shot of the mothers. all are LSTd and some i have had a go at FIMming.

7th is a shot of BLZ bud mother's main stem pretty much horizontal because of LST.

8 is BLZ again (my favouriteand biggest)

last is clone box again.

Looking good! i havent seen the peat plugs put into soil like that before, interested to see how they turn out.

Lookin good! Been thinkin about usin the LST method on a few of my plants. just to see, i hear great things, for now i just bend, top and fim. definitely subb'd

to be honest i dont know why i actually did it that way. i kinda just thought that the moisture in the soil will keep the plugs moist too?! and also to keep them upright. i used this method before and it worked so i just went ahead and did it this way again.

how do you do yours?

i use the same juffy #7 pellets but i put mine in a humidity tray with a 1/2" of moist perlite in the bottom. if it works then go with it until you have trouble. as long as the soil around the pellets doesnt stay too wet you should be fine.

just a little update, still no visible roots but still looking healthy. 8 days since cutting. hopefully something shows in the next few days. cant wait to get them in the veg room.

do you have them under any kind of humidity dome? I have used the clear plastic dixie cups with a small hole drilled in top and it rocks the party.

yes, that red tub has a open top so i put a clear peice of perspex over the top. there are no holes in the top though. should there be?

just done tonights half hour tying them down a little more as the new shoots were growing up again. while LSTing them, i noticed that they all have the white hair female pistils growing out. :) sometimes it does pay to pay the premium for feminised seeds.

pick and mix seeds live up to their name in my eyes.

just went up and checked a few. I had to pull a few out as they just didnt make it, the stems folded right over as they were soft and soggy.....

.... HOWEVER.... one of the BLZ Bud cuttings have rooted. So there is hope for the other guys yet. i forgot to take my camm up so its only from my iPhone unfortunately. Next few days i hope to plant a few of these!!

thought id take some cuttings from the BLZ bud mother as she was as bushy as a german bird!

some nice before and after shots and also shows some of the LST work that i have done.

i have tried a slightly different technique by using coco coir cups so will see how this goes.

comments welcome...

looking nice! the stem on that mom plant is huge!! i hope the cuttings turn out well fro you. how did the last batch do?

from the first batch i took, 28 in total, only 8 have rooted so far. i think the soil was too warm?! i had to bin alot of them as the stems just turned mushy. but i have 8 healthy looking ones now.

and yes, the stem is really thick. shes a big lass! ha. i need to trim the other three mothers now too. i was hoping to of had the first 28 cuttings in their second week by now but that obviously hasnt gone to plan. so i will probably give the 8 away and start fresh with this new batch. (or i might be greedy and keep them all?!)

one little question though, if i takecuttings now from a mother, how long will they keeo if i left them in water? i dont have space for them yet but the mothers need trimming as alot of middle foliage isnt getting light as much as i would like!

you can root cuttings in plain water. some people leave their cuts in a glass of water over night. the idea is that is softens the plant tissues and allows hormones to be absorbed more readily. as long as you keep the water fresh and the stems dont mold, you could keep the cuts in water for several days before sticking them. you may want to keep a few of those clones for new moms. look into bonsai pruning your mothers, it is a much more efficient way to keep plants healthy in a small space. there is a great article on here about it but i cant find the damn thing right now.

if you are having issues with mushy stems you might want to reassess your cloning procedures. a brulee or pencil torch is great for sanitizing tools. some grow shops sell scalpels for like $2. i prefer sharp scissors because i have numbness problems in my hands, but many people use razors, x-acto knives or scalpels to take cuts. what ever you use be sure to clean it with at least a 10% bleach solution but a flame is more efficient.
