Soaked seeds into peat pellet or soil, pot sizes, and light amount?

Hey all,

Getting ready to plant soaked seeds. First round I did the water soak, paper towel, then into dirt. This time I'm going to skip the paper towel and into either jiffy peat pellets or soil. Many years ago when I did a veggie garden, went straight from seed pack into the ground and almost all plants grew fine. I already have the pellets since they came with the dome.

What if any benefit would I get using the peat pellet, then soil solo, then pot?

How do you decide when it's time to move to the next size pot? I'd doing auto indica is that helps.

The first round I used red solo cups, but this time I'm thinking of using clear ones so when the roots are to the outside edge and towards the bottom I know it's time to move them. Only negative I can think of is if the light hitting the roots would cause an issue, but then I could just put the clear inside of a red to block light when not checking them.

My seedling grow box is ~30"L x 12"W inside, using 3 standard bulb fixtures with 3 led 13w 5k 1600L rated bulbs pulling 41.5w total. Should I add more, change to lower color temp?

Thanks.

I start mine in Jiffy pellets then into pint pots, quick and easy.

I "transfer" my auto indica's by placing jiffy in premoistened final pot day after sprout. I veg under a dimmable 150W white LED for 2-3 weeks before going under the big light(s). Just personal preference.

When you say 150w light, is that 150w from the wall, or a “150w equivalent” light output?

I’m still trying to figure out the lighting part.

For the sprout tent I have 3 “100w equivalent” leds that actually pull a combined 43w from the wall.

Then I have 2 -300w cob fixtures (275w from wall) that they will veg and flower under.

there is no benfit from using plugs they are a money grabber and people a lead to beleave you need the best of the best to grow cannabis not true if u were to see the things i have done u would spin my best advice is if u have had a fair few veggie gardens in the past treat them like that do what u would do with veggies but more i go straight into dirt with seeds no issues dont even soak

It's actual 150W. I dim to 75W at 18" for 4-7 days, then back to 150W until I go under the 235-325W full spectrums.
