I have heard people say that they put lime in there soil to help balance there ph. do they mean lime off a tree or a powder form? and where do you get it if so, oh yeah how much what ratio
Its Limestone, calcium carbonate. Garden hydro shops sell it.
Its kinda base an will fight high ph.
I never put it in the soil yet, Search outdoor soil recipes.
I do the same thing with with a pinch of baking soda an water.
yes dolomitic lime, powdered, not pellets, I get the espoma and use a cheap coffee grinder to powder iit , a tablespoon or more per gallon of soil, indoor of course, outdoors, its been a while, youd have to check google

Well if you were trying to reduce PH why in the world did you use baking soda? That raises PH not lower it.. White distilled vinegar will lower your ph, how much you use is up to your water. I used to use 31 drops per gallon to bring it down to 6.8 PH.
