I've been on a search for a easier way to get a close look at trichomes.

A jewelers loupe is cool but my hands shake to much to get a solid look nor does it take pics.

A USB microscope is cool if I take a bud off to look at close but again my hand shakes to much to get great pics while looking at buds on the plant.

So I've been working with a HD camera app and attempting to get it dialed in with nothing more than my phone and this app.

I'm getting better with it.

I took some pics but found that taking a video and then taking screen shots out of the video is the easiest way to work with this.

I think I can still get closer and clearer. I Will continue to update this thread as I make progress with it.

But for now for those who don't have a loupe or a usb micro scope this is a feasible way to check trichomes.

As we can see above in the last 2 pictures most are cloudy. Very little clear left but no amber.

I hope this helps some of you in the future.

Have a wonderful evening.

I have to do the same exact thing. I can’t stay still if you paid me. Resorted to screen shots. Using a stylus helped even better when I did it on bigger screens.. I was able to just roll it.

I use the microscope now. My lazy ass finally reinstalled the software. It came with a little pedistal. So when I’m grabbing the nanners I put those down on the glass and they stay pretty still if I don’t touch em. I wish I could have an outer body experience and watch ME go thru trying to get a steady pic tho. That’d be hilarious.

Mine has a pedestal as well. But it doesn't really help when you are checking big colas still on the plant. Holding it still is a challenge.
