How is it disingenuous? They are a private company that hosts videos. They are under no obligation to be some sort of bastion of free speech.
Also, they have no ability to prevent you from hosting your content elsewhere or hosting it yourself. The only thing they can do is demonetize or remove content from their platform. Considering they allow people to upload content without charging any kind of hosting fees, and pay those people ad revenue if the content gets enough veiws and doesn't violate their terms of use, I'd say they are well within their rights to disallow whatever content they want.
Does that suck? Yes, yes it does. It's unfortunate that people built lucrative careers on a platform that provides no guarantee of free speech nor any promise of unrestricted access to their services. Does that mean they are violating anybody's rights? Nope.

Also, if you are implying that no alternatives to YT exist you are either not paying attention or you're being intentionally dishonest to bolster your point. I can think of two or three without even trying and I'm by no means the most savvy or knowledgeable internet user.
Except that's exactly how they presented themselves and their business from the beginning, which is why there were grower channels from the start.
They're just a bunch of hypocritical cunts. There's a lot of that going around in mass media these days.

Totally agree. Unfortunately, they are still a private company and are allowed to piss people off if they want. I personally think it's a bad call they are making, but it's within their rights to do so.
