Hey, hoping someone can help me... I just noticed my 600w 12/12 lamps timer is busted! Its been running 24 hours!

I only put them in 7 days ago so I would hope my timer didnt shit itself too early on, that means they would have been on 24 hours under 600w (with carbon filter/osc fan) for at the MOST seven days..

am I screwed? Ill attach photos.. help!

ps - If i'm NOT screwed what effect will this have on yield/taste, etc?

Thanks

if anything you just shocked them and I would replace the timer and go back to 12/12. it might set you back like a week, but should not affect the out come at all.

Is your timer broke?

Had the same thing happen to me changed the timer and same thing. would turn off on the 12 hour cycle when it felt like it. have had to go back to manually turning the Cunt off. Havent figured out the problem yet.

if they werent flowering for that long it wont matter to much, if they were, say 2 weeks and on under 12/12 then they will be reverting back to veg, which could take up to a moonth, if they been under 24h for close to a week, i say leave it 24h for a lil longer untill you see the plant start to grow vegitively then juice her with a high phosphorus flower inducer like open seasme for example and back to 12/12. and it looks like you have problems with the PPM of your water. peace

Yeah tap water ph'd to 5.5 or 6 than adding nutes (u wont have the same nutes as we do down here - nz), checking on the CF meter as i'm topping up the nutes. After your post I checked out the growfaq on PPM and will check my levels the day after changing water/nutes....

I'm guessing the bigger plant in the soil (an old mother) doesnt have that curl because it's in soil and not rockwool huh?

once again, your advice and help is apreciated, i'm quite the noob in case u hadnt noticed :blsmoke:

the old mother is prolly not as susceptible to the higher level ppm as the other one, different strain im guessing or, the soil is acting as a buffer? not sure... either way you can fiter your water with a mr clean spot free car wash filter, double em up with some tubing used for refridgerator drinking lines, 40ppm. lasts a while too, replacements are cheap.

I had a CF of 28 which was reccomended by my growshop for flowering... too high? That was the maximum he reccomended...

To be honest after reading the expertise of some of the posters on this site sometimes I think mr growshop counterguy doesnt know all that much more than I do.

Yes different strains also. I changed water and added 24CF worth of nutes (topped up water to pull CF down).

Thanks again...

im curious what your ppm is out of the tap. thats where i had problems, too high of iron and maganese caused my ph not to stablize. (i had just moved in to a new house with a well) therefore cause lockout. you shouldnt have to use too much ph down and it should stay low for sometime before jumping around again

unfortunatly some grow shop guys have solutions for everything, whether they know or not, based on their product line. the guy at my shop said i should def get one and told me which one is good but basic enough to get away with at a descent price, i was buying my water at the time so i told him i would get but wanted to wait, he siad in the mean time there is a place down the street that will test your water and soil for 50$. WOW. what a guy what a guy.

28CF after adding nutes is ideal, however 28CF might be too high for the plant that has the curl issue, different strains are going to require different feeding regiments.... a simple soil flush with something like clearex will knock it right out if just ph'd water doesnt work. give it a week or so.

Hey I just checked the CF/PPM again two days later and its up to 33 on the CF meter! So I'm guessing that means the plant has sucked all the nutes up real quick? Obviously I need to top up the water and try balance it back out... suggestions otherwise? Thanks again, youve been a great help sk3tch3

Ph'ing the water then adding nutes.. I thought this was the best option? Should I recheck my PH after nutes as well?

hell yeah your nutes always change your ph you want to put it back where you want it so your plant doesnt lock out cearten nutes

Ahh nuts! The amount of reading on this messageboard I've done and I was totally unaware :-?

As I said earlier my CF has jumped from 28 to 33 in 2 days.. so top up the water to push that CF back down to 28 and re PH the water? Fingers crossed that will uncurl those leaves?

thanks..

i had to stop using unfilterd water. my tap water sucks! that was the only way (and the easiest) to fix my problem.

My tap water when I PH tested it raw was 8.0.... You think this could be my problem (despite the fact I'm balancing it to 5.5-6.0 before adding nutes?), I tested the CF as someone mentioned how the plant will suck all the nutes and leave just water and alter the balance (ppm?), sure enough it had climbed to 33, the next day 34! So those plants had sucked up all the water and were now getting nailed by a res full of nutes?

So I topped up with regular tap water (which has PH 8.0, rats).. Maybe my water is just shit? I checked CF again after watering down nutes it was 5.5 which would maybe mean it was way out before I added all that water?!

The CF is now 23.5 will keep monitoring, hope this helps someone else out, learn from my mistakes or something... and thanks for everyones help :joint:

i buy my water right now because i dont have that many plants. im pretty positive it is your water giving your plant the shaft
