So how valid is Patient2Patient in AZ?
I know that with the laws pertaining to Medical Marijuana in California there is a lot of patient2patient of meds this is obvious with sites like BudTrader. My question being is this permissible in AZ? Since you have to get approved through the ADHS to become a patient and at some point you can become a caregiver and grow up to 12 plants for another patient. So I have seen some places popping up on sites like Leafly that offer delivery of meds if you are a card holding patient. Is this allowable under the ADHS guidelines? It doesn’t seem like it is but maybe there is something that I am missing in the wording that allows these services. Thanks

They do it under the guise of "donations" as opposed to actually selling the stuff. You actually aren't allowed to exchange meds for money unless you are a caregiver registered to a specific patient. Patient to patient is pretty legit other than that, lots of the meds are of varying quality / prices so choose wisely.

P2P is very valid as it is written clearly into our MMJ law.

As hacker points out, one cannot accept anything of value for the medical cannabis - so the buds always have to be 100% free.

There are a lot of patients here in AZ willing to give away free meds, however i have paid money for MMJ Consultation Fees, Blessed and/or Magical Apples, Historical Paper Clips, etc.

Patient 2 patient, caregiver 2 patient & patient 2 caregiver is fine if nothing in value is exchanged...

And having more than 10z is very easy to understand if you are growing 12 plants as a patient/caregiver!
In the fine print of AMMA - it would be considered "incidental" marijuana which is not counted towards the 2.5z per 2 week limit...... As a matter of fact a patient/caregiver can not be prosecuted in any manner(state law) for providing or assisting another patient/caregiver as long as the person doesn't cause the patient/caregiver to exceed the 2.5z limit biweekly and if there is nothing in value exchanged....

So 2 conditions must be met -
#1 patient/caregiver must not go over limit (2.5z/biweekly)
#2 No in value in exchange (100% FREE)
100% Legal

I would simply read the AMMA before asking or taking advice. IMO

So if I happen to get some meds from a caregiver for free or by donation what is the proper way to verify from my end? And what should I be expecting that they are going to ask me for as far as verifying that I am legit? Thanks for the info everyone! Just want to abide by the guidelines that are being set forth.

The person you are potentially dealing with should have all these answers. If not i would find someone who does.

The bottom line is you have to think about explaining it all to a judge and how it's going to go over. Period.

Thanks everyone for all the information! I just know that there are going to be knuckleheads out here where I am that are going to be taking advantage of this opportunity and probably just hoping to lure individuals that have no idea what the proper guidelines are. I know what dispensaries are starting up around the state but I am way down in the southwest near yuma and I just don't see a dispensary opening here anytime in the near future so I am trying to find the proper caregivers to get my meds from. Feeling a little sketchy about it since I'm in a bordertown and I know there are cartels that are going to be trying to taint the whole thing with their shenanigans!
