so i want to know the best way to keep them out of the garden, since exterminating them totally is near impossible, i am looking at protecting individual plants, so i set up a medium sized ring of copper around each plant in hopes that it will do the trick.
i also made an experiment, where i set up a large copper ring, and plopped about 6 snails in the center of it... they just meandered around and didnt leave the ring, unless i put a piece of wood right next to the outside of the ring, leaning up against it. sooo, i think that the copper thing works, but not totally... i want something that will f*cking kill these bastards because they ate alot of my plants so far!!
oh and as of that little obstacle course of pennies, they wouldnt cross over the pennies until about 5 minutes later, one finally crossed over them, and the other just gave up and wouldnt move at all.. it seems that they couldnt rationalize that there was an escape route, and the younger one had the balls to climb over the copper, but the older one gave up.
