Smoked some leafs - taste horrible

Hello,

For 4 days I dried out some of the middle leafs of my plant. Rolled it up and smoked and the taste is horrible + no effect, smells like dog piss , is this normal ?!

Typical of a grower who grows under DWC or CFL, had you got the correct equipment then at least you would have gotten some buzz from your efforts, right now all you done is delay harvest and further stressed your plants

No dude leaves don't have trichs..and probly did taste horrible
The bud is a different story..you probly should have read a lot more before even starting a grow

Nothing wrong with cfl either

I'm embarrassed to say that I tried smoking leaves way before I understood that it's the female flower that you're supposed to smoke. Now I know and so do you. I'm guessing newb's will continue to smoke leaves ad infinitum until they also figure it out for themselves.

Lol this thread makes me giggle. Yes this is my first grow, but i did my research and have been smoking for 10+ years before I even tried. Hehehehe. And im working on finishing up my complete CFL DWC grow.

If you have to smoke leaves,use sugar trim (leaves with trichs) but they'll still taste horrible because of chlorophyll and starches.

I remember me first time trying the leaves,i came to my plant,almost like freakin insect by himself and just bite the leaf off the plant and swallow it...maybe thats why plant turned hermie later...

I thought this may have been a joke post since if you really thought the fan leaves would get you high you obviously have done zero studing on this type of growing and should stop until you have the most basic of understanding.

you can smoke what you can see resin on
anything without visible resin will taste disgusting
give you a bit of a headache light headed feeling this is not a high it is due to lack of oxygen in the brain
this does not stop old hippies smoking fan leaves though lol

Agree plant looks nice, can't believe someone would say throw it away ...
i have taken down little runts and smoked them early that looked far worse than that
imo its worth keeping and smoking

What he was saying is don't smoke leaves newbie... or anyone unless you are an old hippy....

Keep growing your plant...
Do not harvest until you see all the hairs on your top cola recede back into bud...
Check your [original] Calyx that little thing with the two hairs sticking out...
When it swells up triple size...
Plant will be ready to then check Trichomes...
So far so good...
Just keep up the same you are doing...

What do you mean by " little runts " ( english not my native language ) ... and anyway how can I test my buds before harvest ? I would really like to try it a little ... can I just cut a little one down and dry it ?

So sorry for my noobish questions ...

yeh thats the idea, its good to test the buds out from around 6 weeks onward etc
there is no set time when they are ready its more of a personal preference

little runts are the plants that stay very small due to poor genetics / lack of vigor

I've smoked leaves lots of times and yes you can get high on them, though it is never as good as a bud high. The high is different too, a bit more energetic and anxious in my experience. Yes it will taste like shit but it's better than nothing...
