Smart pots, Pros/Cons?

Just decided recently to switch all my plants this grow to 5 gallon smart pots in my tent. Does anyone have experience with these opposed to normal potting containers? What benefits do they have over normal pots, Also are there any noticeable growth differences I.e Yield/size?
 
Ive used them and loved them, gotta becareful about overwatering. Rootball was nice when I pulled it out. Best plants I had were in my smartpots.
 
I've read about them, they're apparently very good for the roots, keeping the roots off the pot walls and forcing them to utilize the soil better. Couple this with soil such as MiracleGrow's "over & under-water protection" and you won't have any problems. I just switched to that stuff, put them in 1-gallon "tall" planters, plants seem to like it after I dropped the pH of the water a little with lemon juice. And you shouldn't use any nutes for about a month after transplanting. In a month I'll be transplanting again into 10-gallon pots.. wish I knew where to find those smart pots. I'm a stickler for buying local, support the local economy!

I bought mine from a local hydro store, 5 gallons and 10 gallons in later veg is my plan.
 
They keep the roots air pruned, so there is no root spin out. They work great in ebb and flow systems as they are water permeable top to bottom.

I don't know if you will get more growth...I can only inform you that I went from 2g to 3g and then back to 2g as I have height restrictions and cannot have large plants.

What it is that you have to be careful with overwatering on them? Just that the will leak from the side and make a mess or do they hold water longer than normal pots?

Are these the same as Air Pots?
 
Similar to air pots. No, they certainly do not hold water....not like a typical pot would. They are made with fabric. I'm not sure about the overwatering; maybe kenetic will explain a bit.
 
Smart Pots are awesome, I started using them last year and noticed dramatic growth right away. The plants were large, tall and bushy, the root balls were also the largest of any that I had produced in the past.

They can be a little tricky outdoors, because they are fabric, they dry out a little faster than hard pots. But once you have the watering figured out, you'll never turn back to normal pots.
