Smallest pot to still yield one ounce

i wanna try some mini lollypops....what do u think the smallest pot size i should use would be. Id like to get one nice ounce per plant.....try to cram as many as i can into a closet...
 
Cant recall where I seen it, guy used 24oz soda bottles and LPed them.

He got 3/4 of an Oz. per plant
 
Im about to try 4 per sqft on a flood table. Im gonna use 4" square pots. I aked AL. in his thread and he think ill be able to pull a zip per provided i had enough lighting..
 
1 litre plastic soda bottles will do it, but even 16oz could with the right media and care. To get growth like that you'll need the best soil or soiless mix, the best nutrients, a simple apporoach you can be perfect on and not burn with, and optimum care.

Get trays you can put them in, so you can water the trays and let them soak it up then drain the excess rather than watering a ton of individual containers cause they'll need water often when they're mature and a good soaking is key every time so it can use every inch of the media to grow in.
 
6 inch pots like half gallon should be able to get 4 of those per sqft...soil better be top notch and growth cycle short or you'll run into problems along the way:)
 
It also depends a lot on your light. If you have 1,000 gallon pots and a 23W CFL you're not going to get an 1/8th of an ounce.

P.S. I can get 2 oz out of a 1.5 gallon pot and a 400W light but a better grower could probably double that.
 
Theres this flower growing store i go to.They got these 6" tall boy pots i was thinking bout using them. I got some clay pebbles and jiffy pellets. 3x3 flood table. Im hoping for 36 oz.
 
yea im gonna go soil...havent picked the brand yet...im gonna use some real good AN nutes tho...i was thinking 2 of the 20$150hps and some cfls in the middle also....ill flower at 8-10 inches and use bamboo stalks to support the main cola as i plan to cut everything but the cola and the fan leaves...being that its such a small pot "still havent decided what" i will probbly mix some prelite so it has more grow space.This is gonna be a sick grow....ill take pics of it....STILL LOOKIN FOR IDEAS any help is good.

Isn't that last pot A LOT bigger? Plus it depends on if you're talking hydro or not.

In soil the bigger the pot the bigger the root ball, the bigger the root ball the more nutrients the plant can provide for flowering. Can a fantastic grower like yourself do amazing things with a tiny pot, yep. But can every beginner? Or does it take a little practice and learning? So would it be fair to say that for the same grower using a larger pot will give them more yield? And would it also be fair to say that using too small of a pot can cause the plant to become root bound and stunt it's growth?

I'm a newb but if I understand all those ideas above then I think it would be reasonable for the average person to conclude that a larger pot will increase production and a smaller pot can decrease production.

the last pot is 5 gallons but i pulled a pound and half off that plant.

never limit yourself because you feel you are a noob. anyone can do it. it's not rocket science. :-P




the indoor plants were grown under two 600w HPS's. fox farms soil and metanaturals nutes.

Ah, so a nice amount of light. I've just upgraded my last 400W to a 600W so I'll have two 600 watt HPS's in flower too. I'm using a 400W MH for flower and I LOVE it compared to the CFL's I was using. I'm now of the opinion that the only reason to use CFL's is to reduce heat and save money in bulbs; otherwise you would never give up the amazing difference in growth.
