Small time lurker, first time poster(Noob)

Hello everyone, brand new guy here still learning to navigate and find my way around. I have came to these forums and lurked around hundreds of times over the last year and have learned so much. I have never been part of a forum before, but I thought I would give it a shot. I got into growing about a year ago and after about half a dozen failed attempts I grew my first complete grow of three white widows. Once my seedlings finally took off I fell in love and since then this has become my main hobby. I constantly strive to learn as much as I can about these wonderful plants, and keep a notebook chalked full of info iv jotted down off these forums and other online resources. After that grow I grew 13 more white widow clones that came from the strongest of the three original plants. Its kinda crazy how much info is on forums like these. Rollitup has saved my ass more than once when it comes to searching for solutions to grow problems or just simple tips on how to do things.
I look forward to becoming more involved in this community instead of watching in the background. I know I could at the least help people completely new to growing if need be, but for the most part I want to be on here to learn learn learn. I appreciate this forum and everything its helped me with when it comes to growing/growing problems.
Growing these plants keeps me disciplined in keeping up with them and gives me something relaxing to do at the end of a long day at work. I do not really smoke all that often (call me crazy) I just really enjoy growing and more recently got into cloning.

//Any comments or questions on what I use to grow or any other aspects of growing that I should try to get into next would be appreciated. If I posted this in the wrong spot, my bad. Any feedback is welcomed.

I use 20 and 45 watt 5000k CFLs for the first couple weeks until the plants start growing fast and switch to a 180 watt (true watt) LED that I got off Amazon. I grow in soil using FF Happy Frog mixed with Kelloggs organic soil, which I think is Home Depots generic brand ( I might be wrong) and about 40% perlite. I also use microryza early on and add sea weed extract every other watering to give them a boost. I currently do not have another grow setup, but I am just starting to germ a Power Africa, a random mid bag seed, and a Jack Herer.

The only thing I would say is be careful of bag seeds; don't get me wrong some of mt best weed I've grown has been a bag seed but if also had hermies or males come along.

I like your set up, and hope your light is a true watt. Mine is 700w but pulls 572watss from the wall. :)

I'm mostly an outdoor grower but grow a plant or two in the winter and germ a month or two before the season to get them going before popping them outside :)

With the bag seed I hope so too man. I am just doing it mainly for practice and to see what it turns out to look like. One question I do have is should I ever bother with breeding plants specifically for seeds or should I stick with clones for any reason besides it being easier? It would be nice to have hundreds of seeds from a good plant for the future, but at the same time I would never have use for so many seeds and a couple clones does me just fine. Also, how useful is it to hang up like a dozen 2000k 8.5 watt store bought LEDs during flowering? These are just a few questions that have been nagging me off the top of my head.

I also forgot to add that I use a 70 watt HPS that i bought on sale at the store for $11. The LED only draws 180 watts so I thought that might help as I booster I kept it over my biggest plant during the time.

I would not start trying to breed if you're just starting out.

Breeding is more than pollen and having a good female and male to work from but having to stabilize the strain so it becomes that good bud you want.

Id definitely take clones of this mystery seed because you only know the name of the weed it came from not the male that pollinated the female in the first place.

If you have the space,
Take a fe clones and sex one f the ones to be sure you don't have a male or a hermi on your hands.

The lights sound okay to me but I'm an outdoor grower so I bought a trusted Canadian led light from Toronto and has warranty if shit goes wrong.

Ah, I see I will stick with just the clones.

The LED I have is Dimgogo brand 1000watt eqiv. (180 true watts) with 10 watt triple chips, full spectrum. I think it is mostly for flowering plants due to the color parameters being mostly high red like 650nm I think is what its measured in (not 100% on the exact number). The amount of blue light in it, just from looking at the chart it came with does not seem to match the amount of red that it puts out. I kept it about 18-20" from my plants. I think I started at like 26" and lowered it from there throughout a week or two.
And I spent alot of time trying to find a cheaper LED. I know it is not very good to go with something cheaper, but I did not want to invest a large amount of money into it at the time. Its still a decent light for what it is, its just not one of the top of the line ones that cost a little more.

And btw I appreciate you all taking the time out to respond.
EDIT: Well just cannabis queen I mean lol

Your light in my opinion is good for starting out and you seem very knowledgeable on growing so far even if just new you will do well and I have high hopes for yeah!

Good luck growing and nothing is a stupid question
