Small Indica Root Problems? Pics inc.

Ok first of all im glad the forums are back up as iv been waiting for help lol ok i have 4 plants growing at the minute and these two in the pics were planted on 1st of march i have them under 5 x 23w cfls in orchid soil with 60-40 (40) perlite and water well once a week, they have plenty ventilation and are now on a 20-4 light cycle, im guessing they are indicas but they just came from a lil weed i had bought from a dealer, was a really nice smoke, I know i could use more light but that ain't an option for me just now, i just want to know that why are the roots growing out the holes in the bottom of the pot? is this normal or ok? and do they look healthy and ok in size and growth like nodes and bushiness for the light im using? im not selling or anything i would be happy with a half ounce from each plant hopefully, what do ya think? all feedback is appreciated except buy more lights lol i know that already hehe, oh and when could i start flowering to manage a half o from each? Aye up mate, Nothing to worry about(well depends) just your Ladies telling you they want Bigger Pots..what size are they in now...? Depending on How Long you gonna Veg for? Bigger is Better...I think(could be wrong) but its "Like" 1gal(4.5L) for every month of life cycle?
If you ain't got lots of Dosh(Bigger Pots can cost) I've been looking at Buckets & Mop Buckets(Dark Blue OR Black 1s) in PoundLand...all you got to do is drill some Holes..or heat up the Tip of a Screwdriver to put say 6 Holes or so in Bottom..hey presto 10 Litre + Plant Pot and for the quid.

Ey cc, Damn 4.5l every month haha I have got them in 1.5l pots just now and there 5 weeks old, Woops, I got some bigger pots out back i can use, I thought they had stopped growing as well that must be the problem, better get them changed over pronto, What do you think of this, 5 gallon pots another 3 weeks of veg and then 12/12? Looking for about a half ounce from each, possible? and many thanks once again for your input, always a great help to me, taught me quite a lot already

No Worries HH, yeah I think you would do Grand with Pots that Big(more than enough space) and tis hard to say(about yield) but IF all keeps going the way it is...Yeah half off em will be no problem(don't wanna build ya hopes up..but think you looking at oz's rather than arthurs...they looking nice n healthy..

Just bare in mind that you currently have 115w of cfl around your 2 plants.

A friend of mine used to grow 6 small lollypopped clones under a 300w Large Enviro cfl and he used to get 2-3oz of pretty good quality buds.

Expect around an ounce and anything more is a bonus.

Try to mount lights around your plants and make sure you heavily trim them as anything over about 4" from the cfl isn't going to receive enough light to grow properly.


And agree with CC roots out the bottom = time to pot up into a larger pot.

Be careful how big of a pot you use unless you can mount lights around the plants. Otherwise you may not get the 2 pots under your lighting rig.

Perfectly normal for a healthy plant to grow roots then out the drain holes ...lol
Of vital importance is that if you don't pot up( transplant the plant to a bigger pot,15-18 litre is best) the roots will dry out, shrivel up and drop off,
This will seriously delay harvest time, so stay sharp and pot up, best time is late in the day, so they can recover overnite or at the 4 hours sleep time you give them ..!

ps as you light situatiion is not the best consider going 24/7 with lights on, to make up for the low lumen you have!

Okay I have repotted into 3 litre pots at the moment and final repot will be in 2 weeks with 10l pots, that will give me a chance to get somemore lights for them to surround all areas o the plant for flowering, fingers crossed i get an ounce a plant Thanks for the input guys i really take in and appreciate your help, I have learnt so much from you all keep it coming peace.
