Hey guys I’ll be in week 5 of flower on the 25 and I feel like my buds are small and before my grow finishes I wanna do all I can to maximize my buds since i won’t be growing another plant this big for some time. Some things you may need to know

300 watt led (135 w )
3 gallon fabric pot
Using fox farm nutrients 3 bottles .. also cal mag.. no ppm meter can’t test run off
Not sure the strain just know it’s stativa

By week 5 of bloom it's way too late for these plants.

The way to increase bud size is to train your plants to take best advantage of inputs. Structurally, reducing excess bud sites and making sure those you leave get the best light is the best way once you've taken care of the basics like good nutrition and growing conditions.

I lollipop a lot or the plant at week and 1.. I still have a few sites that should be taken off.. should I go in or that’s too much unneeded stress?

Your buds haven't yet hit the phase of growth where they will fatten up and gain weight. Give them a little time. A lot has to do with genetics, never gonna get big colas off a strain like girl scout cookies for example.

Looks ok to me. You arent going to get huge buds with 135watts of light. You can get larger buds by training the plant to have 4 or 6 main colas instead of a bunch of smaller ones.

Its not going to stress the plant to do thinning or trimming. Its never too late to do a little house cleaning.

This will give you the best results and use all of the resources your setup can provide. Your 135w led is probably alot like one of my old Mars 300's. It needs to be within 12" from flower tops to get enough intensity-that's what drives flower formation.

That plant is only 1/3-1/2 of the way through flower. Over the next 5+ weeks those buds will get much larger. Sativa dominant strains usually take 10-14 weeks to properly finish.

Obviously more light would help too!

Ok... so I’ll be removing these 3 tops since they won’t do producing much

So should I stick to leds or go with hps next grow

I was thinking 10 weeks would be the limit .. but 14 weeks that’s gruesome

That's not uncommon for pure sativas. There are some they people run closer to 20 weeks, but that's pretty crazy in my book too.

I doubt yours is pure it doesn't look like it. So it could be 10. I would really probably count on 11-12 to be properly ripened though.

The sativas I've ran to 12-14 weeks have been some of my favorite smoke. I didn't keep them in my garden more then one grow because they took so long, but they were great still.

I don't think it really matters which you go with if you buy good quality, and get more energy on the plants. How big is your space?

I run a 1k hps in a air cooled hood. It's still much cheaper to get a quality hps set up then quality led. With that being said eventually I can see myself switching to LED when the price vs quality is a little closer. My light and cooling fan only costs me $30 a month.
