Small 2-4 plant grow (second grow)

Hello everyone! I grew a few plants about two years ago and due to my Mother finding them and throwing them away it obviously didn't work. But I was growing 6 plants using CFL's. Now I want to try and grow a personal crop of medicine... again. I live on my own now so im sure this will be better.

Anyways, I am starting another but this time it will be a small closet grow... 4 or maybe even just 2 plants. What type of lighting do I need? And any special precautions for the closet for better growing? If someone could please maybe walk me through this?

The difficult part about growing in a closet is ventilation. Your going to need a way to ventilate the warm air from your light, out of the closet, especially during flowering... Closet grows are fairly difficult to pull off with a HPS/MH.


What I mean in regards to "especially during flowering". When the lights are off you still want to exhaust air (while keeping it light proof). This means you need to cut a hole in the closet somewhere..
 
My honest suggestion is to save up a bankroll of 500 dollars to make the grow worthwhile.
-Light
-Nutrients
-Soil
-PH tester
-Grow tent
-Pots
-Carbon Filter
-Light hood

This is all the basic stuff that your going to want to have on hand
 
dude i use CFL's and i get a great couple ounces o' bud of plants in my closet so id say go CFL check out see more buds book google it and it will help u decide whether to use CFLS in a closet space :)

CFL's are my favourite but thats just my opinion they dont produce much heat and they throw the lumens at the plants you just gotta use a few of em lol ohh and i hope you enjoy your stay here at RIU :)

you can even make your own grow box and it would be cheap
and use cfls throw some fans in there to take out and put in air
it shoulnt be 500 bucks
you could make a grow space for probably less then 100 if you dont buy the wrong things haha
 
Yea it's not for a huge yield or anything... Just a few personal plants. So what voltage CFLs? Does it matter or no? And I should just keep some good airflow in there with a few small fans for airflow and stem strengthening and they should be good right? What I do is plant the germinated seeds into small biodegradable paper cups with holes in the bottom as well as about an inch of small gravel in the bottom of the cup for drainage. Then I let them grow for a few in there and transfer to a larger solo cup. Then finally to the pot. So once I plant the seeds should they go directly to the lights or no?
 
smokebros is right on about the results even with a 2x2. Here is an example IMGP1682.jpg This is 1 plant under a 150w hps grown hydro the carbon scrubber is homemade and works great. I got 47 grams dried and no stems. I only get to smoke once a day so this will last well after my next harvest. If you go with a hps you will need to get creative on your ventilation. Best of luck.
