Skunky babies... already??!

so, today is the 2-week mark (since planting) for 5 of my seedlings... 5-bladed leaves are out, and i noticed that distinctively skunky smell... there are a couple of branches on my two biggest babies that have what look like brownish speckles on em... and these are the plants that are skunky... are the specs what are making the odor?

Oh, I was talking about the purpleness in the stem. Then again I guess it depends on the strain too..

thanks for the comments!

i'm wondering if the fact that a couple of them are smelly gives any clue to the type or potential quality of the strain. the weed that the seeds came from wasn't an amazing smoke, but not bad, and i am wondering if i give it more tlc than the original grower, give it enough time, nutes, keep it sensimilla style, and take care with the curing process, it'll be a bit more potent. it would seem that the genetics of a seed set your limits, but it also seems that there quite of a range of quality you can get- from good to bad- within the genetics based on how good your gardening skills are... am i on track here?

it's definitely warm in the grow room, like around 85 deg F (has co2), and nothing but a fan for cooling, so i don't think cool air is the culprit on the stems that are purple, brown, or whatever color it is lol.

this is just some bag seed from a couple diff bags... i noticed a couple of the plants (not pictured) have a little diff shape to the leaves, and have stems that are more white-ish (and they don't smell)

I'd like to know how it turns out. I always wondered what I'd get from some middie seeds, with a bit of tlc I think you can bring out some better qualities.

fresh grown bud from bag weed is bound to be better usually do the the amount of time and hands the bag weed has been through, all the while losing its THC content

i read someone's comment that bag seed is destined to be a dissappointment, because it is more than likely the offspring of a hermie, and will probably turn hermie and take a long time to mature... if my plants live, i'll keep this thread updated with the results when the time comes... they're just over 3 weeks old now, so we'll see!

anybody have experience with this, or have a theory?

ive grown bag seed and flowered females. It wasnt a good percentage but it was a female. Germinated 10, planted 7, weeded out 2 due to health, flowered 5, removed 3 males, harvested 2 females. The weed was as good if not better than the $80 quarters of dank i buy around here. Stay optimistic
