size restricted mother?

I am wanting to make a mother/clone room, but I don't know if I can do it in this space or not.

29" H
18" W
24" D

Is this enough space to keep a mother in veg Height-wise? Mother will be in soil, but clones taken off of her will be rockwool, because the veg/flower room will be DWC.

It's mainly the height I'm worried about. Well, that and what size pot the mother should be kept in.

I would like to keep the mother as small as possible since I will only be veg/flower two at a time (scrog) so I won't need to pull off of her all that often.

Also this is a CFL grow, so please keep my measurements in mind and give me a hand if you got the time. :leaf: Word.
 
Small pot like what? 1 gallon?

Where exactly do you cut to keep it short? Is there like a thread with the info or a pic or two? LOL

look in to "bonsai" ...with my moms i always start from clone i start with a mouth wash cup and work my way up to a 1 gallon max,each transplant i trim the roots,and you can cut pretty much all but a few good leaves and branches and it will regenerate,you can keep moms for atleast a year this way
 
Should I let "x" amount of nodes to appear before topping it? I guess I just can't my head around how it would work to keep them short while in a long veg. It's always been really hard for me to grasp that idea.
 
its like how some people will flower a plant,cut almost all growth off,then put it back in veg,it doesnt seem "right" but it will start to grow again
 
Does it grow back out the nodes? Should I let it get a few of them before I start trimming it back?

ok dude first of all cut it at the second node TRUE node the baby leaves dont count this will make it rly short and bushy with lotsa nodes when it heals and grows a lil more so u can cut planty of clones and finally if it gets to tall cut off everything above your height restriction no matter what it is i promise u every pice of that plant can grow back(obviously within reason ) oh and if ur plant is already past the 2nd node like the 6th just cut it at that node dont chop a biggen to its second node :P
 
I personally allow my plant to reach node 6 and cut it back down to the 2nd true node which develops 4 main colas.

Then once it reaches my height restriction of my clone/mother room i flower the bitch and keep a clone on as her next gen mother. Then keep doing the same.

If i get any abnormalities i start again with a fresh batch of seeds.

i do exactly the same thing bro except the fresh batch thing i never give up unless the plant is totally screwed

Now I guess I can go ahead with the design of the mother/clone room. I'm about 80% done with the veg/flower room. This is gonna be AWESOME! When I get out of design stage and in to build I'm gonna make a build journal of it. Jeez I love this shit! :leaf: Word
