Six pack of bud

I want to bring a new meaning to the term six pack of Bud, lol

I sure hope this works

But the other day I was impressed by a photo that @Big Green Thumb had posted, apparently there was a 16 ounce cup grow contest. I never saw it but I guess I don't ramble around Riu enough.

Lo and behold as a member of another forum, I see they posted up a 16 oz grow contest, so I decided to Jump Right In.

The rules are that you had to start your seeds on May 30th, veg until June 30th in which you then throw them into flower.

I guess the best looking Bud wins, doesn't really matter to me if I win or whatever I just want to have some fun along the way. You can grow as many plants as you want but you're only allowed one entry.

Cups are boring, I was chugging on a 16 ounce beer when I got a wild hair across my ass, why can't I use one of these cans ??

So here it goes, I guess I will turn it into a grow log, feel free to jump in with any input.

I decided on two strains, Greenpoint Doc Holliday and I was gifted some nerds genetics, pankyrang in which I know nothing about other than apparently a shorter flowering time.
So if anyone here has any experience with Nerds genetics please let me know ?

I couldn't start on the specified date as and as silly as this may sound my pH meter shit the bed so I had one on order and it wouldn't arrive until Friday the 1st of June. I like to pH my water when I soak my seeds initially.

By the way, for many years I had a Hanna combo meter, I wasn't sure what to get to replace it and I came across a heck of a deal on this Myron,

Handhelds/Myron-L-Ultrapen-PT2-Pocket-Tester-for-pH-Temperature

I like it, it's definitely slower than my Hanna but I think it's going to suit me just fine.

So here's my seeds

So last night before I hit the sack, I threw three Doc Holliday and three pankyrang into soak,

Water, h2o and a secret ingredient, lol

The picture sucks but this morning all seeds had tails.

Doc is in the round container . 20180602_132738.jpg 20180602_132759.jpg

I guess one good thing it also gives me a chance to buy some new equipment,

Since my main tent is well occupied I have a growlab 40 on its way Plus I may be sticking my neck out here but I ordered and received a migro 100 light, you don't see much about them on here but a few guys on IG swear by them so fingers crossed. I will veg and flower with this same light.

I guess maybe this is more of an experiment but I'm going to give it my best.

Oh man, I've had Mad Elf but the Grand Cru is a new one to me! Troegs does some really great stuff.
The Grand cru you can pick up now but the Mad elf is a Christmas beer, I just happened to find a couple six packs tucked away in a local liquor store...
The Mad elf is a little bit better than the cru but they are similar

It's basically a 16 ounce cup grow contest, I just chose to use 16 ounce beer cans...
I like your style! Nothing says 'serious grow' like a beer can grow! So in this contest you get to veg for a month then flower but it has to stay in your 16 oz cup? I'm not familiar with your light, I will Google it.

Yes it has to stay in the 16 ounce vessel, everyone else is using cups I'm just the odd ball here LOL, for the whole duration of veg and flower. I am not sure how long we are supposed to flower but we only get to enter one plant and then we have to show our root mass. So that means I'll be cutting open the can...

BTW, seeing your post is what jump-started me on this excursion

I will be posting up pictures of the light once I get it out of the box,
Thebudgetgrower on ig seems to swear by them and he let me pick his brain a little..

I really enjoyed the party cup grow, but do not expect to win. Another contestant produced quite a bit more bud than me and 1 other hasn't yet finished but he may out grow me as well. Oh well, it was a learning experience and fun!

The only thing I'm planning is to have fun, I don't really care if I win

I'm going up against guys that are way smarter than me when it comes to growing weed

Subbed up. I think the reason they use solo cups is bc they super crop the roots. Bc they grow outta the bottom of the cup. Super crop the roots. The plant continues to grow bigger with a smaller root ball. I think. Not 100% on that.

Good luck

Thank you

We're not supposed to have any exposed roots or any coming out from the bottom and we have to keep everything documented once a week with photos.
I wanted to be different using the cans and what I did notice is that they are taller than the cups so maybe that will work to my advantage, plus I'm also bottom-feeding.
My only concern is the aluminum and if it may react with my nutrients, it's something I'm not sure of and I couldn't find any info on it.

So my 3 pankyrang seem to be doing quite well, popping out of their new homes.

Still don't know much about this strain or what to expect other than what nerds genetics post up on their IG
