Single tote, multiple plants. Root entanglement?

I was thinking. I’d like to use totes for DWC and run half a pack or so in one tote. Could I use a big tote with 6 net pots and run them all in the tote? Will the roots entangled kill some plants? Only the strong survive? Trying to go through more plants in DWC without doing one per bucket….

I want to run many plants and take and keep clones and find keepers.

I grow in totes 20 gallon size. I have had 6 seedlings in a single tote but only for sexing.
After sex determination I transplant to larger netties and two plants per tote. The root systems get so huge I can’t see growing anymore than two in a tote without root crowding (IMO)!

You can do it. But if there is an issue with 1 plant, the roots will be all tangled.
If you want to plant 1 plant only you can have a problem.
I did it with 4 plants. They won’t fight each other

Current grow 2 in tote, not a lot of room for two more but IMO plants don’t need to compete for nutes why crowd them

only issue will be if you happen to get root rot in 1 or more plants. then trying to get the dying plant/roots out without damaging others could be a pain

You will have no problem but you will not be able to pull plants out until the end when you cut them. And i would reccomend the same strains if you have one plant that eats 500ppm and one that eats 900 one will suffer and you will under or overfeed.
I grow 2 in one.last grow had a dwarf that had to be overfeed you would see all the signs but the other one was huge soo i sacrificed it
