hi everyone, swr from cape town heere
think this is my second post on the forum so i'm still pretty new but i've learnt a bunch already.
so i started a little grow yesterday, one (silver pearl) plant that's still in the germinating stages of it's life. started the seed in water + tissue paper then moved it into a small pot (with just normal potting soil) under a CFL bulb (i forget the wattage) going 12/12 from start. the entire rig is inside an old computer case that i lined with white vinyl - this is just temporary till i move into my new apartment. i'll have roof space there. and possibly a 400W Dual MH/HPS Light Kit. that's it for now, pretty simple.
so my questions..
i've got a bag of coco coir and stuff to set up a small hydroponics rig. would it be advantageous to do so once i move the plant into the bigger roof space? i presume it must be better than soil!
any other tips? haven't bought anything else really so if there's anything that would help the grow let me know. i'll put some pictures up today too.
irie - thanks.
