1st time using new LED...its a Maxisun 1500...I have it abt 20inches above plant...I already raised the light about 6inches after noticing this but just looking for some confirmation...I'm out of town for work so I'm going off of pics the ole lady sent...I have the LED on one side of this set up and a 150watt HPS on the other and the plant under the led is showing some leaf curl the plant under HPS is not...am I just trippin or is this a sign of the led being too close?

The plants under HPS aren't showing anything like this I have one in same set up as the LED just on the other side and also one in the closet...same soil mix for all plants

Ha...yeah probably so...I work outta town sometimes and when do I monitor them thru pics she sends...just got the light couple weeks before Christmas and wanted to have some time with it to see how the plants would react but got called outta town...

Thanks tho you eased my mind n after looking again they're not curling as bad as I thought the 1st time I looked at pics...
Strains are Chemdog, Chemical Fire, Bubba OG(Indiana Bubblegum × OG Kush), Guicey G, and a bagseed

You're plants don't look bad, but it is a good question anyway. I've been struggling with a similar thing, leaves curling down, stress signs. And at this point I'm convinced that it is because the lights are too intense.

The thing about LEDs is they have a much wider spectrum than HPS, so if your light is too intense for young plants, meaning too high wattage or too close to plants, then you can experience problems that you otherwise would not get from a very narrow spectrum like hps.

I would back your light away a bit and see if that has an effect on the plant issues, this will help you dial-in what light intensity the plants really want/need.

I got the maxisun 4000 I like it alot. That deformed growth is probably the seed. The plants look good. They get starved for Cal/mag but definitely mag.

Is this the light?
339 watts?

According to their par readings
15" - 18" for flowering
24" - mid/late veg
36" - seedlings clones

8" - kill the plants!...... :bigjoint:

To all that said the wrinkled leaves on the one plant are Genetics/mutation...correct...here's the smaller plant when it was even smaller...it started out as a mutant/miniature plant and I almost tossed it...seems to be coming out of it now but those leaves have been like that since she popped and I just now noticed by lookin back thru pics...those are the same wrinkled leaves since she popped...everything since seems to be fine..I do think the led was too intense and causing the outer edges of leaves to curl up and I have since raised the light 6inches

150w HPS is junk - more heat than light, tho in volume can be great for an even SOG grow

here I'll leave the LED to do the work it will reduce the high temp and low humidity causing the leaf margins to curl

good luck

The plants under the 150s are good...its the ones under the led that had the issue...I agree there are definitely better lights than the 150...I'm in an open room heat hasn't been an issue temps are low 70s... 40-50%humidity...here's the ones under the 150s...they haven't had the curling issueScreenshot_20210103-133944_Gallery.jpgResized_20210101_182735 (1).jpeg

Still looks like a PH issue 2 me
All plants are in same soil mix...only issues have been from plant directly under led and the small plant that started a little mutated...
I don't test the ph of my soil so not sure what it is...I add dolomite lime to my soil mix tho I hear it helps
