*sigh* 420?

Bah I have to say I'm starting to get alittle embarassed.. lol.. being only a smoker for 2 years, I don't know as much as I want to, which in turn causes me to ask questions that might seem stupid to others.. but oh well fuck them knowledge is for my benefit

Sooooo was curious... what is the actually significence behind the time 4:20?.. is it when school got out and everyone smoked pot?... lunch breaks back in the day?.. what's the story behind the time?

Kids in California would meet up to smoke after school @ 4:20 (or kids in general, this is what I've heard without asking the question)


It's not really a global thing or significance to the time, as much as I know. Just a trend that caught on and became synonymous with Cannabis.

Ive heard things like that there is 420 different chemicals or something in pot but idk......i think its bull. sounds like somethting a cop would say.

The term originated from a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California, in 1971. The teens would meet after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke marijuana at the Louis Pasteur statue.
According to an April 2009 article on the The Huffington Post, the group called itself the Waldos because its members hung out by a wall after school. Writer Ryan Grim, citing interviews with anonymous Waldos, claims that the group met by the statue at 4:20 p.m. to begin a search for a crop of unguarded cannabis growing near Point Reyes that they had heard about. They never found the stash, Grim writes, but smoked plenty of marijuana while looking for it.

the term 420 was coined after the first initave in cali was labled bill number 420....kids then took the term to mean potsmoking...now its fuckin everywhere....az
