side / middle lighting question

Hey guys i'm in the 2nd week of flowering 2 masterkush white hairs all over, they're at 24" under a 400hps.Question can i use a 42watt cfl (2700) for side and middle lighting ?
Although the 400 watt is more than enough you can definitely add the cfls for side lighting

yes you should it is a great idea to use supplemental side and under lighting with any type of lights and cfls will do this job fine, you should keep them as close to the budding sites as possible without burning your plant... usually 2-3 inches. just keep you hand in between the lights and your plant, if it feels hot on your hand it is too close. doing this can greatly increase the amount your "popcorn" buds will grow and you will see a more than adequate increase in your yield compared to the cost of doing this.
