Sickly Chilis

Hello, here is a portion of my indoor chilis, they are an assortment of Tobasco and Bhutjolokia (three of each). They are approx 8-10 weeks old. Potted up about 10 days ago from punnets, with quality vege soil. They were on my windowsill, showing no signs of stress, with obvious growth spurts, potted on when showing N deficiency (losing/yellowing of lower leave, nothing serious).

Since putting under my 250w 65k cfl, at about 10-12" way, in my tent about 10 days ago, I've noticed a massive diffrence in their health. The symptoms are pretty obvious.

Only added ferts are 1 foliage feed of Maxicrop at the standard rate, and aphid treatment with neem oil concerntrate.

I feel like a nob as I havent currently got a working hygrometer/temp to see whats going on in that respect, but if anyone could offer advice going by what they see that would be a great help.

Ive just raised the light as I suspect it could be too strong, that way atleast Ill notice if theres stretch with improved growth.

Cheers :bigjoint:

it looks like they need nutrients. or it could be a ph issue . they like the ph down to 5.9-6.3 and can even tolerate 5.5 but higher than 6.8 is when they hurt

well the soil looks a bit heavy, what type is it?
also did you follow the directions for the neem oil. neem will take care of aphids so maybe adding the aphid killer and the neem was a no no.
not positive this is what is wrong, but it could be

Nah sorry I meant I had treated my aphid problem with neem oil. After raising the light Ive noticed an increase in green, still unsure what the black spots are though...

It looks like they need feeding. Don't you add any food to the compost mix before planting? I've never heard of someone having problems growing chillis before, all I do is chuck a load of soil in a bucket, mix in some chicken shit, plant the seeds and leave them 'til autumn lol.

Have figured the problem!

I had the light cycle on 24hr as my timer buggered out. Well turns out a long light cycle will decrease the chilis ability to move phos. around the plant, hence the purpling! Dropped the lights down to 16hrs are they are looking better in only 2 days.

Unsure about the black spot, not sure wether its a fungal infection or Aphid damage, can anyone comment?
