Shwag/Redbud/Mex what is it?

What makes shwag/redbud/mex/hay weed the way it is- the potency, and look? My buddy brought some over the other night and it was full of seeds, which tells me it is a male, the first sign of weak weed. Is it this low of potency only because it is a male plant? What other things contribute to the way this weed it? If I take a seed from this weed and grow it proper being that it is a female, can i get a bomb weed? Is it the strain that limits it potency or the way it is grown?

the herb is treated badly from seed to harvest. If there are any hairs it was a female... seeded means that it was pollenated by a male or male parts, not that it is a male plant. Seeded plants tend to be less potent than non seeded plants as the plant focusses of seed production rather than resin production. Genetics are almost impossible to determine with this kind of ganja. Grow the seeds from it out and make a journal here on RIU to show yourself and us the results ;)..... either way you should get something out of it, and my bet is that if you do it right you will get some fire nugs. Good luck, and before you think about growing, I suggest you do a lot of reading on marijuana horticulture.....:peace:

hmm i did not know about the sex of the plant. i will start this from seed and have a grow report

I have been growing two "shwag" plants in my grow room for about a month now, they look better then most chronic plants I see on here at their age. I will upload pics when I can for you guys. Hope I get some alright shit, I imagine if i treat them right they will produce some decent buds though

Probably nothing He got shwag seeds and planted them and is now growing the plants. He is saying the plants look good. A lot of why shwag is shwag is because of how it is "processed", who grows it, and how little they care about the finished product.
 
ive said this to many new growers "youd be surprised when, with care and know how, the bud you grow will be better than the bud you pulled the seeds from"

shwag, mexican brown frown, brick is the weed that someone grows in fields by the hundreds of plants, and cant bother to weed out the males. it is pollinated by males causing it to be full of seeds and really low in thc. then to top it all of they cram 10-100 lbs into the random parts of someones car and drive it into the country. it needs to take up as little space as possible so they press it into the most unapealing bricks.

that hay smelling weed is what i call beasters, and it had potential to be some killer dank, but someone choped the plant too soon, not leting it fully mature

male plants dont really produce any buds, at least not ones you would want to smoke. just curious but anyone ever tried smoking a pollen pod?

i see, i may have smoked a pollen pod unintentionally..maybe in some brick weed? i got beasters seeds lol. ill try to germinate it well see what happens!

Yeah it's totally worth it, the plants look as good as the ones on here and already smell like some dank chronic after 3 weeks :D
 
I've smoked a blunt of quick-dried-at-low-temperatures-in-the-oven male plant. Plenty of pollen sacks, big fat clusters. I didnt get high really... except maybe a little lightheaded from all the smoking. harsh.. but no effect i guess. maybe I shoulda bonged it? Woulda had to have smoked too much..:peace:

man with the little amount of thc in male plants, i wouldnt have quick dried it your losing even more thc arent you? is this typically how they dry schwag?

not the shwag I smoke.
I've dried a male plant for 2 weeks before, hanging it, and it still did practically nothing, in my experiment.
but back to the shwag: good bud can get turned in to shwag pretty easy, just put it in a brown paper bag for 4 days on top of your fridge. That is how most of the shwag I smoke is like. Unless it is bricked, which is may have been dried in the same method with more or less extremes before being compacted..

sounds like you try to make schwag out of good weed?
 
My first grow was some plain ol bagweed seed. I followed everyones advice and help from RIU and got 50 grams at harvest after drying and got 10 dollars a gram for it. The weed it came from was $40 a 1/4 oz
