Shroom growing questions..

Hey I have two syringes given to me by a good friend who is enlisting and doesnt have time to grow them.

I have bought organic brown rice, 4 jars that do not have lips on them and have access to a pressure cooker.

My only problem is that I can not find vermiculite anywhere in my town, is it necessary or can I just inject the rice alone? I assume I would have to add water to the rice in the jar?

How long would it take from injection to harvest? Tips on keeping cakes sanitary? Any lights I should use?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

try using some wild birdseed if you cant find vermiculite

ohh yeah make sure to heat up you're syringe needle when ejecting because it can easily be contaminated..Use alot of lysol too

You need the verm for the PF TEK. 2 cups verm, 1 cup brown rice flour, 1 cup water. You could always order some online if thats an option. Check out youtube and the shroomery for imore nfo. There is alot of technique and sterility involved, so really do your homework. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies everybody

So i can use ordinary "wild birdseed" found at walmart?
In the meantime i'll be looking online for the Vermiculite, thanks for the recipe grobo

Yep. http://www.shroomery.org/9030/Docs-Wild-Bird-Seed-Tek No prob. Pick a Tek and stick to it strictly and you'll do fine.

yes, but it is not the same as BRF cakes, you could get verm off ebay i guess, the stuff weighs next to nothing....
