ok no answer for that one what about this one can you start a new jar with a piece of a fruited cake?
say a small part of it taken off and put into a fresh jar?
so if i do have a small fisht tank pump pushing small slow amounts of fresh air into the top of the fruiting chamber it will push the co2 out of the holes at the bottom of the chamber? no? so i can have a few chambers going and not have to worry about doing anything to them.
Don't use a dry air pump in, its going to dry your substrates out.
I use a similar system to what you suggest but it goes through a jar with a pond mister in first picking up and delivering moist air.

I only run it when shit seems too wet or too dry, otherwise I just leave the fungi to do their thing. The less you interfere with them, the less chances of contaminating them.
