Shower-Head-Ponics

I'm confused why no one uses this method when growing. Is there something I'm missing ?

After watching several videos with these micro bubbles in showerheads I got to thinking after a member here gave me his ecoplus ( Thanks match box ) with adapters which arrived yesterday.

So I youtubed ecoplus pumps for my model. Anyway I found a video on ecoplus pumps which showed the adapters which is the 2nd video listed in this post. Then I thought about the showerhead video and my adapters that match box sent me.

I thought to myself I can do this and do it very easy..after all we want the water to have air bubbles.

Anyway..please watch these videos in the order posted to see what I'm talking about.

First watch this video..it will explain how it works.
In this scenario it's being used to conserve water by injecting air.

Then watch this video and take notice at :12 sec mark where he mentions Air adapter. It's the one on the right . All you need to do is attache that air adapter to your ecoplus then attach an air hose to the tiny nipple on air adapter no air pump required.

When water is rushing thru outlet it sucks in the air with water creating tons of bubbles.

Plus it will work better with a pump due to more pressure than a showerhead. If you search youtube for micro bubble showerheads they all use the very same thing (air) which you can do with your ecoplus and the correct adapter.

I intend to use it for sure but my ecoplus air adapter doesn't fit my pump so I have to get an adapter to fit the adapter..LOL

PS: I have the ecoplus185 and the outlet size is .625" NPT but my adapter is .75" NPT . After reading amazon reviews on ecoplus it seems they do send the wrong adapter sizes so I guess that's what happened to the previous owner (match box) who gave it to me.

So I checked out ecoplus website to see what is what regarding the size for adapters and pumps being my adapters didn't fit.

If you do decide to get an ecoplus pump be sure to check out their webpage and get an ecoplus which has an outlet at least .75"NPT for the air adapter to fit. As for me I'll just head to HD and get an adapter male .625 NPT to Female .75" NPT so I can screw in my air adapter which is male .75"NPT.

Or you can just buy one of these showerheads but just be sure to keep the air hole intake out of the water and connect to your water pump.

Have you found a.625 npt m adapter? I have some ecoplus 185 pumps and have just about gone mad trying to find a male adapter that will screw into these things. Bought them used in a package deal so the included adapters were not included. Figured out that .625 is 5/8, but have not been able to locate anything with that size connection. Any luck with your search? My goal is to use these pumps with 1/2" pvc pipe.

No I never could find it online and I searched high and low.

I ended up going to home depot and bought 2 adapters and air hose in the plumbing section so I could get the air adapter working. They also have other adapters (Just water Adapters ) you could use if you aren't interested in using the air mixed with water adapter.

Be sure to bring your pump with you because all the adapters in HD are all mixed in with different sizes..well at
least the store I went to was a mess. You don't want to get home and it doesn't fit.

Home Depot has plenty sizes to choose from so that won't be a problem finding what you need.

If you don't have a HD near you try your local hardware store.

The Lowes and Homie Depot did not have the correct thread size adapter, but the local grow shop, Cultivate Colorado gave me 3 that convert the pump output to a 1/2" barbed hose connector, so I picked up some hose, an adapter from the lawn sprinkler section to convert 1/2 hose to 3/4' female, then got a 1/2" PVC slip on to 3/4" male. Wish I knew where the grow shop got the adapters, they are plastic .625 NPT male to 1/2" barbed hose. I think a call to a phone rep from Sunlight Supply might be the best way to get the actual adapter that ships with the new pump.

After hooking it all up today I found that 185 GPH pump just doesn't put enough pressure to the 8 misters, so it's back to the grow shop tomorrow for a 396 GPH pump to run them. I'll use the 185s for a couple 4 sprayer rigs being built in a day or 2. I read that each sprayer needs 61 GPH in order to spray the correct way, but I have 14 connected to a 396 and they work perfectly. Tempting to try the size between these 2, but the price difference is only 4 bucks, so better to have too much and let it wear down over time.:weed:
