Should I Wait for Amber Tricomes

So I'm getting pretty close to harvest, 1-2 weeks. I'm just wondering how long I should wait. I was planning on harvesting basically around the time that 10-20% of the tricomes are amber. My goal is to get this weed to the strongest THC possible. I don't want to hear any of that "couch lock" stuff. When is it actually the most potent? By potent- I mean when will it get me the highest? Not just make me drowsy- but actually high as hell (the longer- the better). When it's white?

If you want the best high, harvest just after buds form and before the trichomes form. The trichomes stay in the bud giving you a more concentrated smoke :eyesmoke:
Giving people a hard time for asking this is one thing. Spreading misinformation that may cause someone to fuck up their entire grow? Not cool.

@Towelie29 Harvesting a little early can result in what some people consider a "speedy" high that can be short lived. You can selectively harvest, dry and cure single colas over the course of several days or even weeks as the plants continue to mature. Take pictures, make notes, mark your curing jars and sample. :bigjoint: Next grow, you'll know your exact preference.

It was a joke lol I hope no one would be that naïve to actually harvest just after buds form

Wenodis.

Skuxx know dis, I know dis, but some newb struggling with a first grow and reading through the forums may not know dis. Would suck after all the hard work to end up with a tent full of ditchweed caliber leaf.

Don't forget your audience. We're in the Newbie Central forum. ;)

Its not even physically possible for TS to do it.

You really want mostly cloudy. That is peak THC. But you won't get there without some amber.
That's kind of what I figured from reading online. Just waiting for 2 of my purple kush plants to get a little more cloudy, 2 other plants are pretty much there. Well put, thank you.

Cloudy to very few amber.
@OP this is what you want.

Alot of amber = Couchlock = a heavy narcotic type stone.

Not great for people that don't use heroin but absolutely delightful if you want to trade hard drugs for soft ones or if you're on the Marijuana Maintenance program (MM used to avoid Methadone)

I've been checking the tops and a few lower buds, the tops would turn amber first right? It's really hard to get the jewelers loupe close to the sides of the colas...
